I thoroughly enjoyed Sinners. I love watching movies from this time period.

I do feel however, like the whole vampire thing just took away from my enjoyment of the movie. I’m thinking a better movie would have been seeing how the two brothers leave Chicago with Capone’s stolen booze, open a juke joint, and fight off the klan and Capone’s thugs in the Jim Crow south.

But I did like how the ending tied it all together.

Not just that, written by Mel Brooks, who at 98 is also gonna be playing Yogurt. Rick Moranis has come out of retirement to reprise Dark Helmet and Bill Pullman is also back.

History of the World Part 2 series sucked, but hoping that Mel can pull of one more masterpiece. He's certainly got a lot of material to work with.

Sinners is now on HBO, I liked it a lot. I actually liked the first half before the vampires show up even more than the second. It’s unfortunately rare to just see a well shot, well acted, engaging film these days. The only part I feel like really let it down is that Ryan Cooler is pretty terrible at shooting action sequences (which is even worse because he keeps making movies with a lot of action). I have the same issue with his Black Panther movies, the climactic ending fight in the first black panther is just a huge terrible cgi train wreck. Some really good action would take his movies from B+ to A+ for me

I wouldn't say incredibly bad, but I wouldn't say it's good either. Maybe mindlessly entertaining.

There's a character that mimics Ian Malcolm's character. It's not as bad as the last one with the giant cicadas. Both of the boat chase scenes made for decent cinema.

And that's really all I'm basing my opinion on, besides the insistence to just keep opening new parks. At least LW/JP3 deviated from the that. All the "world" movies are just HEY LET'S DO ANOTHER JURASSIC PARK. AGAIN!

Fortunately, you only see its face for about 3 short stints. It looks like a T-Rex was cross-bred with the Predator and a beluga whale. All of that cross-breeding gave it an extra chromosome.

We actually watched the Redux (again). And while I was glad to watch the redux again and see the extra scenes and the extra lighting, we decided we'd stick to the original in the future. There's a reason it was edited that way.

I really didn't find the overtones too much in one way or the other. I chalked it up to another nonsensical maga thing. The russia/ukraine thing i only know about from one of those reviews(probably maga sympathizer) that says its a loose interpretation of the 2 countries in the war in the movie
