Meant to put this here. Put in another thread by mistake. I have also heard a lot of people say that teasers are a suckers bet. I used to play a lot of them, and they killed me overall. I try to play less teasers now, and just look for solid plays. I do like 10-pt teasers a lot. I think one big thing about teasers is the low payout. You have to hit a lot higher %age of teasers in the long run to succeed.
3-team, 10-point teaser for Sunday
Carolina +1 Chicago -3 Houston +27 1/2
This looks really, really good to me. 11/11/2005 11:58:29 AM |

JT3Bucky, here are a few tips. I'm not great by any means, but not bad and have improved a lot of the last few years. If anyone wants to add or correct anything I say here, feel free.
First of all, teasers. There are 6-point, 6.5 point, 7 point, and 10 point teasers. You can use as many teams as you want in them, except for 10-pointers which have to be exactly 3 teams. On my site, you can't tease over/under on 10-pointers. Your basically moving the line in your favor on multiple games, but you have hit every game on the teaser to win. Ties still win, just not as much. Ties lose on a 10-pointer though.
I'm a lot more disciplined than I used to be. I'm just not disciplined to the point that it takes all the fun out of it for me. I def. want to win, but I also do it for fun and it can be fun just to have that much on a game. So, it just all depends.
When I say disciplined, it means something like putting the same amount on every game. A lot of people will have "units". You could say $20 is a unit. Most of the time, you put 1 unit on every game. If you like a game a lot, maybe put 2 units on it, and so on.
Just remember that there are NO sure things. Everyone has several stories of how something so right went so, so wrong.
If you lose, you have to pay 10%. Its all figured out online, but 22 will only win you 20. So, that means you have to win 54% of the time to break even.
One of my favorite rules of thumb is like I mentioned last night. The line moved a lot. This means that most of the public is on one side. The general rule is to go the opposite when that happens. It worked last night with Fresno. Sometimes I see a line that looks too good to be true. A lot of times it is. My theory is that somebody knows more than I do, so I try to play accordingly, or not at all. 11/11/2005 12:16:37 PM |

Louisville/Rutgers
I think Louisville wins big...but how big. I may tease this not sure. Right now, taking Over 67. A lot of points, but should be a shootout. 11/11/2005 12:24:15 PM |

Louisville -13 1/2 for 1st half.

Im THINKING about doing a teaser, getting Louisville -16 and taking the under at 75....
After last night and seeing how Boise State decided not to show up I dont know about taking an over at 68 or 61 for this game.. 11/11/2005 5:45:36 PM |

I know everyone is betting Louisville in this game, but I wouldn't bet too much on them. 22 is a lot of points to cover, even at home. Rutgers isn't a horrible football team (although the quarterback controversy definitely hurts them) and both teams have played streaky football all season. 11/11/2005 6:26:15 PM |

I think Louisville will score. Its a question of whether Rutgers can keep up. Feel like I'll get one or the other, hopefully both. Thats the thinking tonight, anyway. 11/11/2005 6:33:48 PM |

I really like Boston College today. They lost a tough one at UNC last week, where they had some bad penalties that cost them. Playing at home today. State might have a little bit of a letdown. State matches up really well with FSU. Pretty much mirror images of each other, and you know FSU is now the biggest rival with all the Florida players here. On the road today at BC. FSU just tries to out-talent people and NCSU can play that brand of ball.
Really like BC moneyline, and will prob take the -4 as well. 11/12/2005 1:45:34 PM |

Odd question, I have 100$ on the Alabama game tonight. Right now UA is up 3pts. Say LSU scores a TD to win. Do they kick the PAT still? or does the game end with LSU up 3? Cause if so, I push. So I guess I really cant lose this bet if they dont kick the PAT.
Nevermind, my question was just answered.

I took a hit today for about $400, so I'm down about $200 this week for college football. A couple of teams really killed me, since I had multiple teasers with the same teams that lost. My money bets came in, though, with South Florida and Memphis.
I'm beginning to really like the 3 and 4-team teasers for the NFL. There is extra juice and ties lose, but 10 and 13 points are a lot in NFL games. I just put these bets in...
Football - 210 Chicago Bears -3 for Game Football - 218 Indianapolis Colts -7½ for Game Football - 220 Carolina Panthers +1 for Game
Football - 203 Kansas City Chiefs +15½ for Game Football - 210 Chicago Bears pk for Game Football - 218 Indianapolis Colts -4½ for Game Football - 221 Denver Broncos +10 for Game
Football - 203 Kansas City Chiefs +15½ for Game Football - 210 Chicago Bears pk for Game Football - 218 Indianapolis Colts -4½ for Game Football - 229 Dallas Cowboys +16 for Game
And I have to do at least one $25 parlay every week...
Football - 203 Kansas City Chiefs +2½ -110 for Game Football - 205 Washington Redskins pk -110 for Game Football - 207 New England Patriots -3 +105 for Game Football - 221 Denver Broncos -3 +100 for Game 11/13/2005 2:55:21 AM |

^ I hear ya man. I had a horrible day, then almost had a great night. Had a good night, but Georgia gave up 4th and 10. Hit a 2-team parlay with BC -4' /UCLA -3. Had moneyline parlay with BC/GA. Down 60 for the day, so not too bad. Kansas and GA would have given me a huge day.
I really like the Bears today. SF is terrible. Bears better on offense and there defense is great. They could easily be 7-1 overall. I hate to give 13 points, but I see Chicago winning by 3 TD's or more. I already have them teased, will take them straight up as well.
Feel like Indy could have a letdown after huge win Mon night over Pats. They should win, but I won't play them or tease them.
Really like Denver, and also the Under in that game. 11/13/2005 10:53:25 AM |

I took over 21.5 for 2nd half in Giants game. Took it pretty big. They got 21 in like 8 minutes. I had to sweat it out there at the end and just barely got it. What a relief. Got 2nd half over in Den game as well as Sea game. Good day overall.
