didn't someone there a year or two ago create a thread saying that stripping the ball should be illegal?

after saturday, someone insisted that making a catch by trapping the ball with the back of your hands on the turf is illegal.

stats defend it? You mean their total rushing yards of -6? Or the 7 sacks they gave up? Or the 87 yard punt return they allowed? or the fact that our defense stoned them in the redzone time after time after time? pffffffft, get outta here

I don't get this argument. Sure you could chalk the 2 yard hail mary up to "luck" or "right place, right time"...same for the fumble by Ponder vs FSU (although no one would be talking about that play if it had occured in the 1st quarter rather than late in the 4th). However, we were somewhat "unlucky" in the 3 games we've lost. One was an OT loss, the other 2 we held leads late into the 4th quarter.

Must be good to be a unc-ch fan. You can be dumb as a box of rocks and have no sports knowledge or any memory of past games in which they've won by "luck" or a refs call.

Let me summarize the situation I've read through: TWW (95% College students/grads) debating with statements made by IC ( 50% high school dropouts, 20% community college grads, 20% under 18, 10% four year college grads). Let's just say that when TWW makes more more logical arguments against you (and we've all seen some asinine stuff on here alone) it's time to take a wrecking ball to the website and quarantine hundreds of IC posters into the Mayo Clinic.

There is hours worth of crap over there but the part about UVA being their true football rival is gold primarily because UVA from 1983-2008 beat UNC at UVA and cleaned UNC's clock who is 7-20-1 in the last 28 years against UVA. UNC has stunning records against most ACC foes from 1892-1930 which they will readily pronounce as heroic.

I may be mistaken, but didnt the UNC/Duke rivalry start fairly recently, as in shortly after Coach K took over Duke's bball program? I'm sure there was still a rivalry between UNC and Duke before that simply due to their proximity from one another, but the extreme hatred for one another didnt start until Duke's bball team started seeing success.
