yep... i mean the m/s 50/52 can hold that much power too and actually weigh less... but you know... to each his own

Just do like everyone else with old e36 or e30's and rig up enough duck tape and bailing wire to keep things working
4/20/2013 10:12:55 AM
i zipped tied my old e46 m3 driver side door. i think e46 are even worse than e36 when it comes to regulators. three on dads '01 325xit and one on m3. utter garbage design.
4/21/2013 12:15:20 AM
on the plus side, you get really good at taking the door panel off and it doesn't take very long to fix after your first few timesBMW must take all the new engineer hires and stick them on the power window or cooling systems teams[Edited on April 21, 2013 at 10:48 AM. Reason : .]

I've never seen it on any of my previous cars. Ah, well, luckily drilling them out wasn't necessary. Next up is fixing a very minor oil leak (seems to be from the oil filter housing gasket, apparently quite common on these).
4/22/2013 1:59:10 AM
off she goes...last e92 m3 rolls off the line. time for prices to finally start going down. this fucking car has been itching me since 2008 and even now 5 years later it is hard to stomach its price.http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=861141

I really like e90 M3s but I have to wonder how they will age keeping in mind the electronic complexity of the cars.
7/10/2013 8:13:04 AM
most reliable modern bmw. i just pinged new owner of my old 335i and he is at 120k. cars seem to be holding up..given it is turbo

I concur. Almost wished I took the plunge and just bought a new, stripper one.Anything new coming from Munich makes my dick soft.

My e90 /// just needed a new fuel pump and low pressure sensor. Seems to be straightened out now.Looks like the sensor was bad and causing issues with the pump and wore it out. So we'll chalk this one up to stupid BMW electronics as well!
7/10/2013 9:56:26 AM
Speaking of making dicks soft, here you go.http://www.worldcarfans.com/113071059990/2014-bmw-i3-full-specifications-released

What a horrid-looking little vehicle. I know that a tiny EV isn't going to be sexy, but you'd think they could have done better than something that looks like a Toyota with a BMW-ish grille.
7/10/2013 12:18:53 PM
It looks a lot better than anything else that size
7/10/2013 6:20:27 PM
it looks like something you would drive dtownralwhat with your majoring in oatmeal studies
7/10/2013 6:28:00 PM
I'd drive the shit out of that if I lived in London or somewhere
7/10/2013 6:31:43 PM
^^^you think that looks better than a Mini Clubman, Honda Fit, Ford Fiesta?
7/11/2013 8:59:32 AM
Mini Clubman - a lot betterHonda Fit - betterFord Fiesta - equalyes, batteries are heavy. for comparison, that's still not as heavy as the Mini Clubman you cited.
7/11/2013 9:23:13 AM
Well I cited the Clubman b/c it's the only 4 door Mini. It also has AWD that doesn't help the weight.I didn't realize the i3 had 2 engines though. Thought it was a pure EV. The weight makes more sense now.[Edited on July 11, 2013 at 9:27 AM. Reason : ]

well one model has 1 engine and the other has 0, but yeah

priced from 41,xxxdoesn't look as bad in production form as it did as a prototypehttp://www.worldcarfans.com/113072360541/2014-bmw-i3-leaks-to-the-web
7/24/2013 1:11:17 AM
Euro Volt it is. They literally took one, sqeezed it from all four sides like a biscuit, and called it a day. From the photos it looks like i8 will be a volt that has been squeezed from top to bottom. If i were a BMW designer, I'd be shitting on the welcome mat of the engineering department right now and wiping my ass with the resignation letter
7/24/2013 1:24:02 AM
I think its an attractive small car
7/24/2013 8:36:07 AM
It's cool that they got the wheels form a Kia...
7/24/2013 9:25:05 AM
^^^agreed.^^naturally it's a subjective view point. I'm on the other side of the fence. Maybe I would consider driving/owning one if gasoline was $10/gallon. Otherwise I'll spare myself the self imposed punishment.
7/24/2013 10:57:24 AM
well of course I'll keep my F10 5 series here, but if I was in London or somewhere with high gas prices and congestion taxes, I'd drive it over the other options in a second
7/24/2013 11:13:36 AM
Or maybe if you had a very long commute here in U-S and A and it doesn't have an EDR (unlikely now, even for BMW).
7/24/2013 11:19:52 AM
every thread man, jesus
7/24/2013 11:27:10 AM
^LOL hahahahaha^^^I feel like if I lived in London I wouldn't have a car. If I had to drive a lot (esp long distances) then I would probably have a diesel.

I'm strapped for cash and need new tires for my e46. I can get away with just replacing two for now, but those two need to be replaced ASAP. I thought about buying the tires online and getting a friend to put them on, then taking it to the dealer or Import Moror Werks for an alignment. Is that reasonable or does someone have a better idea?
7/24/2013 1:57:49 PM
You've got a friend with the machinery to put tires on rims? That's pretty doubtful. Also you don't need an alignment after mounting tires, you need to balance each tire on the rim. What kind of quotes are you getting? I usually go through Discount Tire fwiw
7/24/2013 2:12:25 PM
Buying online can work out really well. I usually get mine that why. But I then have a professional shop install them. Having "a friend' put them on is highly unusual, because most people don't have the proper equipment laying around.
7/24/2013 4:03:59 PM
Obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about, it just sounded like a plausible idea to me. I've found some tires (225 45 17) in the low 100's and above, but onlinetires.com gave me a few options in the 55-80 range. Is this too good to be true? I'm really worried about buying the wrong thing and wasting money.
7/24/2013 4:30:58 PM
I've bought tires online, but usually shipping is extra, and you have to wait, and you have to pay to get them installed.say the tire costs $100 onlineyou buy 22x$100 = $200+ shipping ~$10-12 per tire===================~$225 to get your tires (you can have them shipped to the shop who will install them)once they arrive, install is usually ~$25 per tire (can be more or less, depending on your relationship)so you're looking at ~$275 with buying online================================================oryou can go get a quote online like this from say http://www.tirerack.com of the tires you want, take it to a place like discount tire, and get them to price matchand maybe they have the tires in stock and can get you out the same daythis has been my experience
7/24/2013 5:43:57 PM
i don't think they will match tire rack, but the prices will still be comparable
7/24/2013 9:00:06 PM
Yes they will because they are a warehouse dealer. The BMW is ugly as fuck. Just like the queers driving around in that lifted Mini Cooper Volvo looking shitbox.
7/24/2013 9:10:03 PM
good to know, last time i tried they said they didn't price match tire rack
7/24/2013 9:51:10 PM
Did you go on discounts website
