It may be an exception, but when I bought Dunlop Direzza Star Spec Z1s back in '10 they were a Tire Rack exclusive. However Discount Tire really wanted my business. So they ordered the tires from Tirerack themselves and charged me the Tire Rack price (plus tax which doesn't apply to online purchases). They tried to charge me more but I was like, um no.

Linda, isn't this an issue that your boyfriend could help you with? (not sarcasm, serious question).

Go to Tirerack.com to at least get a good idea. You enter your vehicle info and then view all tires that apply to your car. You can select which tire type you want and then when you find something you like (with a price that agrees with you) you can read customer reviews.

It doesn't really get any simpler than that.

I've been price-matching Tire-Rack at Discount Tire for a something like a decade. Sometimes I don't even need to mention Tire Rack as their prices are already cheaper, but sometimes I do.

Obviously they add in shipping, and whatever they charge for mounting/balancing per tire (something like $10-$12 per tire I think)

I beg to differ, I absolutely love it. I like the LED DRLs, Interior, NBT based iDrive, plethora of tech options, and the aggressive look

That's the thing...for me personally the looks could not be further form aggressive.

In reality I couldn't care less what the non Ms looks like. The M4/M3 are supposed to be revealed in full at the end of the month. I still don't have high hopes. The front end on the new generation just looks so boring.

^^no offense, but if you're just interested in gizmos then you'd probably be happy with a Lincoln or Lexus more than a BMW.

It looks good, and drives well. But it still doesn't stack up great against the foreigners...from everything I've read at least.

compared to which foreigners? i think the driving feel alone knocked any Japanese competitors out of the water (particularly the steering feel). Its not quite as good driving feel as German cars, but its pretty good for the cost savings.

I haven't driven any vehicles in that class, so i can't really comment directly, just what I've read.

Lexus ES350 may be an inferior drive
Acura TL is better
Infiniti G37 (or new Q50) is better
Lexus GS350 is better
Acura RL is better

Everything still indicates that it will weigh about the same as the E46...which is more than 1-200 lbs weight loss.

We shall see.

I like all of that in addition to the superior handling and performance. If you believe an Acura TL is better, I have nothing to say but go troll somewhere else.

^^I'm really curious to find out information about the powertrain. Since it's a turbo I wonder if BMW finally figured out how to make them reliable.

I as well. Alot of these things are going to be flashed to 500hp the day they roll of the lot. If the torque numbers are where they rumored to be it better be well sorted.

^ I don't know what you posted...my guess is that M4 and next gen M3 will not be offered in a MT...

If it was that...bimmerpost pretty much already debunked it. They have options sheets that show DCT as an upgrade. Also a spy shot inside a window of a next gen M with a 6MT.

my run group had a 335i and a 135i. they had no heat/limp mode issues after changing their intercoolers and charge pipes and the older (<'09 I'm told) changed his oil cooler. they were both running stock maps

Come on dude, we are all in our 30s now, this ain't rocket science!

It is just a rebadging, not some new car or segment.

All sedans will have the original odd number; 1, 3, 5, 7

All coupes will now be even numbers; 2xx/M2 (coupe of 1), 4xx/M4 (coupe of 3), and 6xx/M6 from before

Sedan-ized versions of coupes, called as GranCoupes (aka "4-door coupes") will retain the even number badging,
with "GranCoupe" in front of it to differentiate from the coupe; 6xx/M6 GranCoupe, and the soon to be released 4xx GranCoupe.

EDIT: About the 1 series coupe, it will be renamed to 2xx when the new one comes out soon. Europe also has 1-series 3 and 5 door hatchbacks,
and afaik, they will retain the 1xx designation. A proper 1 series sedan will come out in a couple of years.

↑ truth... Ultimately rods are the weak link in any engine with boost is cr octane and rod strength CID doesn't make a lick of difference other than spool.

Else boost the shit outta it!!
