How can we be anymore clear we need to use Dayes and Hines and try to get YARDS.

Real yards not fantasy yards. Throwing down field with this noodle arm is a fantasy. And against a fearsome pass rush and quick secondary is never, ever, ever going to be the way for us to win this game.

All these incompletions do is lengthen the fucking game. A game in which we are TWENTY point underdogs.

Field position dosent matter they will move the ball at will. We need to be getting POINTS on drives. That means getting us into field goal range on unmanageable down and distances and going for first downs and TDs on 4th and short yardage.

Damn... Finally convert a trick play and penalties completely negate the impact.

Clemson has been moving the chains without any difficulty, too, so coming out of two drives without points could hurt us.

Once you start getting hit with penalties we're pretty much screwed. Dayes isn't picking up 2nd and 35 and our kicker sucks so picking up 15 is useless

First of all our best chance of breaking long plays is with dayes and Hines. We aren't Gonna do it throwing long against Clemson athletes with no QB, period. Trick plays excluded. The more trickery and deception the better

2nd of all our kicker sucking is the REASON we need yardage to make the field goals manageable. We can't keep kicking from 40+ yards. Gotta make them 35 yard or less

I thought it was going to be a run play to make 3rd down shorter, but instead he threw long. It might have been a designed run that fell apart, a few Clemson defenders got into the backfield and he had to chuck it.

Great. Finley gets terrific protection and throws a virtually uncatchable ball on 2nd and 9 on the 50.

This sets up an obvious passing down placing our receiver in a situation where he's surrounded by 3 defenders.n

Borderline pass interference is ignored since Clemson is at home, ranked high, and refs hate NC STATE.

Terrific field position and the opportunity to get points or pin Clemson deep in their own zone is squandered for the THIRD TIME IN THREE DRIVES.

So now we are an hour into a game in which we have moved the ball on two great runs after the catch, a few nice runs by Dayes, a terrific QB scramble, and a well executed trick play. Our defense has managed to force a turnover, hold for a field goal, and force an important 3 and out.

And we have ZERO POINTS.

Everything is going right for us and we are down 3-0. This absolutely smells like a game we COULD have won but will proceed to get blown out in as fatigue sets in and they start winning battles at the line, their playmakers start making plays, and their coaching staff makes adjustments.

Going to squander a hell of an opportunity today.

Nice job by our players to quit on the play instead of anticipating that he might muff the punt. You can't make this shit up. Guy was literally walking off the field after the fair catch signal instead of pressuring him to drop it or recover the fumble

Looked like our guys weren't paying attention on the dropped punt. They just assumed he was going to catch it and didn't see it on the ground until it was too late.
