He has zero credibility now. If you pull a team early due to saftey concers, fine. If you pull a team to be a pussy, fine (you are still a pussy), but pulling coaches and starters and LEAVING PLAYERS ON THE COURT, unexcusable. That right there says to the world "I only care about a certain few on my team.". Either ride it out as a team, or remove yourself as a team. Roy just demonstrated he is a selfish bastard.

If Gotfried had done this, I would be just as pissed. It goes against my core values, and I'm not talking about that never leave a man behind Hollywood crap. I'm talking about doing the right thing for the guy next to you and for the team. If I were one of those 5 he left out there, I would transfer. I honeslty feel bad for those guys.

I'm surprised there aren't rules about this.

I mean, if he pulled everybody, that's a forfeit in any league obviously.

But it's weird that the NCAA doesn't have a penalty associated with the whole bench/staff leaving during a game. They have rules about everything, but not the worst move in athletic competition?

My parents rarely made me do anything growing up, but they never let my bratty/whiny ass leave a game early.

Walk-ons or not, I can't believe he'd leave them out there alone. I'd even understand if he sent everyone but the five floor players and himself to the back, but to consider his own safety before the players he's responsible for is pretty low.

Saw somewhere today that K has done the same thing before, but he did stay with whoever was on the floor.

I don't see a problem with clearing the bench early in that type situation, but how the hell do you do that and not inform the kids that are on the floor what the fuck is going on, and leave them without even so much as an assistant coach?

I would've had more respect had he taken everyone off the court initially. Instead he starts to walk off. Then hamilton says "yo coach. What about your players and coaches?". Then Roy decides to grab the starters and leave the scrubs out there.

^It's been confirmed that it was Roy's idea. He said it was his idea and that it was "almost" Hamilton's idea as well. And Hamilton is telling them to clear out because Roy established beforehand that they were leaving.

Furthermore, it doesn't matter that Roy left some other coaches behind. I mean, I know some people are objecting on the grounds that he left his scrubs out there alone, but that isn't really the objectionable part. The team doesn't leave during a game. Anybody who has played sports at any level knows that.
