and after the ridiculous interceptions that lost us the ECU, VT, and I think maybe the Maryland game, he didnt deserve it

I feel like his final year at State was IMO his worst year at QB. He was a great collegiate pocket passer, but it felt like he scrambled less and less each year and that caused his INT's to increase throughout his time at State. He threw some big picks that year while making some very un-Russell like plays. Not just in the losses, but a pick down near the goal line in the FSU 2010 game would've likely cost State that game if Ponder didn't fumble in the red zone. 9/6/2014 2:10:03 AM |

would have 100% cost us the game if ponder didn't flat out put the ball on the ground with his man running wide open. 9/6/2014 3:06:24 AM |

He threw the ball like 150 more times in 2010 from 2009 and only had 3 more picks, and rushed 40 more times for 9 TDs. 9/6/2014 7:41:15 AM |

I bet his black teammates secretly hate him and/or make fun of him for being so whitebread.

To briefly go back to my view on the last page's discussion:
Not only was Wilson's decision the best decision for him, it was also the best decision for NC State. If he had stayed here and Glennon had transferred we would have won more games that year, in my opinion, but we would have not played at a high enough level to make a case over FSU and Clemson for the Championship and Orange Bowl even with Wilson.
So we would have ended up with one NFL QB, Rivers, because Wilson likely would have gone as a undated free agent and possibly not even make the roster.
The reason we have 3 NFL QB right now is because of the decision Wilson made. Finally, the reason why Wilson has excelled in the NFL so far is because of the Seahawks organization. If he had been picked up by the Packers, Broncos, Ravens, Patriots or any team already with a franchise player at the position Wilson would be in the same spot as so many other good ABC QB who are now playing bavkup. He needed to find a team with a weak QB roster so he could take over and become a captain solely on his work effort. Even if he practiced better than someone like Aaron Rodgers, they'd never start Wilson so again he would have ended up on the bench.
As someone said, at the time this seemed like a terribly mishandled situation but the way it worked out was likely the best result for all parties. Yes we occasionally seem retarded right now but history will show that we put three NFL QBs in at the same time and all three performed at a high level (well, hopefully, Glennon still has some things to prove and Rivers needs the organization in San Diego to make the right moves to get them into championship contention -- he himself is definitely good enough). 9/6/2014 12:12:35 PM |

Rivers will always be viewed as inferior to Rapethlisberger and Eli (2 rings each), Benedict Wilson will always be viewed as a Badger, and Glennon can't even beat out a fucking McCown.
and what do they all have in common? none of them could get more than 5 ACC wins. 9/6/2014 12:22:50 PM |

Glennon beating out McCown is yet to bet seen. As soon as Lovie was hired and signed McCown he elevated McCown to the starting roll, without seeing each of them live. I thought it was a raw deal for Glennon who played pretty well as a rookie last year. 9/6/2014 2:28:07 PM |

He was doing some ridiculous shit last night. He's so god damn fluid when he's scrambling that it looks like he's in slow motion...yet defenders can't catch him. It's like he runs just fast enough to be out of their reach. The rest of the offense was like the three stooges last night and he was like Fred Astaire. NC State now has the two best QBs in the league right now (the way they are currently playing...obviously). 10/7/2014 10:46:14 AM |

well his rating was a 47.6 today. think that drops him to around 99.8 on the season, which, if it was last week, would be around 4 spots lower...and still 7th overall. stats thru week 5 aren't up to date yet 10/12/2014 10:37:28 PM |
