"Haven't read the books or looked at any spoilers, so I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I think there was a big clue in this week's episode. During Jaime and Briene's dinner with the Bolton dude you see the Bolton sigil prominently displayed throughout. It is an X that looks like it has a body or something strapped to it, reminiscent of Theon on the big wooden X. I'm guessing his torturer is some Bolton brah."

That's what I'm thinking and the sigil is a flayed man.

Yep, plus the Bolton's are in the North, so the location matches too.

Robb's army has been carrying more Bolton flags than even Stark flags this season. They definitely want viewers to notice the sigil.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Gweldoline Christie are running away with this show. They are heads and shoulders above every other actor and actress and the story line is, at this point, the most compelling. I have to wonder if their performances will influence Martin's plot in the upcoming books.

Jaime is one of my favorite characters in the books too so it's not that different in that regard imo. I agree they have been fantastic on the show though.

If you're a book reader I would hope not. I'd rather an author stick with their vision over show adaptation influence. Charlaine Harris openly admits the show influenced a plot in the the Sookie Stackhouse novels because of True Blood. But when she did stay true to her goal, she angered many book readers and show lovers. I think that's pretty crappy myself. I get people are invested in characters and storylines, but it's the author's creation.

Anywho...I enjoyed last night, especially their storyline. Bear fight was nuts. Also Tywin and Jeffrey's short scene was awesome. I love a good Joffrey slap--verbal or physical.

The Tywin Lannister character I think is one of the best acted roles. But there are lots of good ones. But you can tell who has the real power when he is around. He may not be the King, but he might as well be when he commands the army. Real bad ass character. Subtle ruthlessness.

And Gweldoline Christie's acting is so over the top, it sucks. Joffrey can also be over the top.

This. Her acting is fine, until it's time for her to speak her lines.

"Help! The Kingslayer!" I shuddered at that line.

^^ how can an accent for a made up place be terrible? How do we know that it's not everyone else's that's terrible?

Or do you mean terrible as in annoying? I know some people just don't care for certain accents.

Cersei is objectively terrible. She was good in Terminator, but she's fucking terrible in GoT.

Dany isn't anything special, worse now that she isn't getting naked. Since her character will now suck balls in the book, too, you might as well give up hope on her getting better.

The Lannister family actors are head and shoulders above the Starks. Except for Aria the Starks are so goddamn emo it's painful to watch.

I wouldn't say the worst, but yeah, pretty close to the bottom of the list. I don't really enjoy the amount of screen time she is given for her character given that 95% of the time it never goes anywhere with her narrative... "oh I'm stuck here in Kings Landing and I can't get away even when opportunity allows it. :crycry:" I just wish they devoted more time to more compelling stories elsewhere.

The only thing I have to point out about last episode was during Ygritte's short scene of when she mistake's a windmill building as a castle and had this sense of amazement for such a structure... Even though they just fucking climbed the biggest god damn structure in the whole god damn world made out of ice...

I think Ygritte is the worst actor(tress)

Maybe it is just her awkward flirting scenes with Jon Snow, but it is painful to watch. especially the silk dress part and the drum marching conversation

i have no problem with ygritte. the actress seems very natural in the character.

To be honest, Emilia Clarke as Dany still isn't that great. It doesn't take me out of the show or anything, she's just fairly one-note to me so far still. Not a big deal though. I've also just never loved her character period. Some cool individual moments though.

In general though, I think the quality of the casting, the acting, the sets, etc. has improved each season and is overall very good. No major complaints from me there.

Really?? I think she's great. I might be a bit biased because I carry a permanent hard-on for Lena Heady...but I think she does a great job of making you hate Cersei. She's fucking evil.

I just think she's a boring character...so in that sense, the actress nails it.

I think you guys are confusing characters with actors.

I think that is definitely a big part of it. The actress that plays Sansa is fine in my opinion for example. But the character is just a little boring and quite often annoying (just like in the books).

I think Lena does a fairly good job.

Its funny. half the time I am like, "She is such an evil bitch, but damn if she isn't fine."

Her character looks NOTHING like she does in real life.

But look, this cast is MASSIVE. I don't think there is another show that can even come close to comparison. On top of the show being one of the most expensive per episode to make (I think 6 million), they can't afford to have A list actors in every part. Would probably make it 10 million an episode, and no way HBO can afford that.

I'm fine with what we have. Just keep it rolling.

the chick who plays dany is definitely the worst.

everyone else ranges from ok to great w/ the lannisters in general being the best. altho idk if that has more to do w/ their characters being better than most (the starks are so fucking boring) or the actors.

idk how anyone could dislike lena headey's cersei. shes great.

I don't think Emilia Clarke is a bad actress. I think she's just portraying her version of Daenerys. She tries too hard to come across as a badass, and people treat her like she's a joke. I think that's intentional. When she starts barking orders in High Valyrian to the Unsullied, you finally get the sense that she is a little badass and that maybe people shouldn't have underestimated her this whole time.

I think Rob Stark's actor is spot on.

I'm on the fence with Jon Snow. I think people forget that he's suppose to be pretty young. So although I am sometimes annoyed by his character being dumb and immature...in reality, I think he's still suppose to be something like 16 or 18 years old (could be wrong on that one).

emilia clarke isn't a bad actress she just doesn't have any screen presence and it becomes more evident when she's supposed to be menacing.
