I watched the Tony Robbins documentary. It doesn't reveal a lot about him, except that he's crazy and his followers/staffers are even crazier.

yeah, when i was watching it i was wondering if he produced it, a lot of it just seemed to be promoting him. i'm sure he has some flaws/secretes, but they didn't touch on any of that.

i read an article that said the director attended his Date with Destiny event and then pleaded with TR for several years to allow him to film it and make the documentary. TR eventually agreed, but he also came on as producer and invested a lot of money into the production.

Just watched a pretty interesting one called Tickled, it's on HBO, it starts out as a journalist looking into a competitive tickling league that he sees a video about online, and that leads down a crazy rabbit hole when he starts looking into the company behind it with threats and intimidation, I recommend it.

I just watched "After Porn Ends" and "After Porn Ends 2." They were both interesting, but it was a lot of sad stories. The worst was the lady who became a porn star after getting a full academic scholarship and dropping out of college. Then she applied to Mensa and got accepted when they saw her SAT scores. Then her husband died in a car wreck when she was 8 months pregnant and now she is an alcoholic. What a waste of a mind. Someone like her needed to earn a STEM degree and do some good for the world.

If you haven't seen the ESPN 30 for 30 OJ: Made in America, set aside some time to watch it. It's 7 and a half hours, but it's AMAZING! I'm on my second watch now. It's on watchespn if you're a cable subscriber.

Also, another plug for the Barkley Marathons. Even if you're not a runner, it's such an interesting look into the crazy stuff people will do to themselves.

I waited and waited for Flatball to hit netflix. I almost bought it outright from iTunes because I was so excited for a documentary about ultimate... and then I watched it.
I'm glad I waited for it to be on netflix... disappointing...

I watched Icarus last night. It was good. Almost like a documentary and a thriller combined.




Also interested to see Machines when it comes out, as I work in the US textile industry. These scenes are pretty unrecognizable. No wonder we have difficulty being cost-competitive.

I recently started the apparent classic "Harlan County USA" from 1976 about coal miners striking against Duke Power back in the early 70s. It appears to be very well done.

And it made me remember another good one, "Bright Leaves" from 2003 about the Tobacco industry in NC, which also involves the Duke family.

I watched Satan & Adam (on Netflix), a documentary about an unlikely blues duo that I hadn't heard of before. Most of it was pretty interesting. They started busking on the streets of Harlem, the black guy (Stirling McGee) actually recorded on Ray Charle's label in the 60s, and played with a lot R&B performers back then, then disappeared and showed-up in the 80s playing on the streetas a one-man band known as Satan. He could play! The white guy (Adam) was kind of annoying though.

I just watched an interesting documentary on PlutoTV called Porndemic. It's about an HIV outbreak in the late 90's in the porn industry. It was a Showtime documentary.

I recommend Shadow of a Wheel on PBS. I think the first two episodes have aired so far.

In 1982, a bunch of North Carolina teenagers set-off to do a cross-country trip from California to Cape Hatteras to raise money for M.S. research. They interview a lot of the participants in present day, and have a bunch of old pictures, and apparently just found a ton of old video. A blast from the early 80s.

^Finished the 4 episodes. It was pretty amazing (I thought... may have something to do with being a kid in the 80s). And it has an incredible soundtracks of "popular/iconic" pop and rock music. I'm assuming the artists just let them have it since it was a PBS documentary about people raising $ for M.S.
