we should also discuss the girls that buy the $125 jeans and try to squeeze themselves into them

they are super low rise and not all those girls need to be wearing super low rise if you feel me

Even when I am rich, I doubt I will spend 125.00 on a pair of jeans.

Shoes, that is another story.

When you are hard to fit, and have few pieces of certain articles of clothing (i/e jeans, a really well fit dress, etc) Money tends to be less of an object than finding something that is fabulous....

omg after all the period talk last night the inevitable happened:

mine started today.

and on the topic of rings... it would be ridiculous for me to get anything over a carat. i'll use my hands too my as a doc, and probably won't even be able to wear it that much. at least my profession can finance a good ring!

On the David Yurman topic: I love Yurman & wear it about every day, just b/c it goes with everything regardless of if it's a suit or jeans/t-shirt.... Also, I like that it's distinctive (even though there are knock offs, you can tell the difference in about 2 seconds).

DivaBaby: The Hardy you're looking at is from the Cinta collection. Though it is fabulous as everything, I don't think even I would pay that much for some of the pieces. Hardy has some incredible pieces without going $20k out the door. I'm going to vote, even though I love his designs, that Cinta is a bit extravagant.

I've never worn jewelry for anyone else... I just feel better when I'm wearing it (and since I'm so used to it, feel kinda naked w/o it)

OMG Alibaby, who designed those rings? I love those, especially because they're unique, very artistic.
Divababy, I like the John Hardy stuff. Very rich lookin.

And David Yurman is nice. The stuff that was on his website a while ago, I wasn't so impressed w/them, but other stuff I've seen of his, definitely!!!

As for $125+ pairs of jeans...I mean, they make some really nice clothes, and shoes, worth big bucks, but c'mon. Denim is one of the CHEAPEST fabrics out there. And they jack up the prices. Yes, jeans that fit well are VERY important, but $70 is more than enough to spend on denim!

I was outbid at the last minute on a pair while I was in class so I still haven't gotten any. But that pair went for $39 plus shipping, which isn't bad at all.

To me it isn't how expensive the raw materials are, it's how well they are made into something tailored to me.
I can get a suit at JCPenny for $70, but it doesn't fit, and I feel cheap. I can go to Adrienne Vittadini and have one tailored to me, feel like a million bucks in it, and will wear it more because I enjoy it.
Same for John Hardy, or David Yurman, or the $125 jeans that fit like a glove, compared to the $29 pairs that look like they were made for medieval stick figures

I can't imagine spending more than $50 on jeans

or more than $100 on shoes, unless they were really nice specialty shoes of some kind

I love antique-look earrings.

And as much as I love shoes, I'm very fussy about dropping over $40 for a pair. But that's just because I'm poor.

my thing is, cheap shoes fit cheaply and i hate getting blisters more than anything

thats why i rather buy a higher price shoe that wont go out of style compared to a $20 pair that will only last a few wears

i think if youve got the money to buy it and still be able to eat
then buy yourself nice things
i would totally spoil myself with $150 jeans and $100 heels if i werent in college and strapped for cash

Be really carefull about buying sevens, citizens, etc. on ebay - many of them are fakes.

i don't like to spend a lot of money on clothes or shoes, unless it's a special item for a special occasion (eg: a formal dress, a business suit). i buy brand-name stuff but not a lot of designer stuff. the most i would ever pay for a pair of shoes would probably be $150.

i guess there are just more things i want to spend my money on than just food and clothing/accessories.

even if someday i have a copious amount of money, i probably won't spend a lot of money on clothes (except for special occasions)

Oh QTpie

i know its from the Cintas collection.......i just love pave jewelry! and i thought that collection is so beautiful and he made it for his wife

Im not hatin on the expensive denim....i just cant afford $125 pairs of jeans right now

i dont skimp on my clothing tho because i'm a bigger girl so i hafta pay attention to what i wear so i dont look frumpy

Adrienne Vittadini has some really nice suits......I have a few things from Jones New York (although its not as expensive as Adrienne....it fits well)

i know that whenever i find that husband to take care of me i will own much more tailored clothing

oh and Cass is totally right on that shoe issue! I cant stand a pair of cheap shoes, which is why i dont skimp on that....i hate waking up in the morning and my feet are STILL hurting from the night before!
