Eh they haven't been THAT bad. They got screwed when Luck decided to up and quit and just rolled with Brissett instead of mortgaging the future for a replacement. Then they got Rivers for a year and he had a perfectly fine season. Then they got a pretty decent year out of Carson Wentz. The only time the colts have had a bad QB room was this past season with Matt Ryan (which should have surprised no one who has watched football in recent years.)

Each one of those years save for 2022 the Colts had a much better QB situation than the Panthers under Rhule/Wilks. And even this past year I'd still probably have traded Ryan/Foles for Darnold/Mayfield.

I think his work with Wentz would actually be commended. Pretty much the only times in his career when Wentz had looked like a decent NFL QB have been with Reich running the show. Not saying I want Wentz to play for the Panthers, because he's clearly got a low ceiling as an NFL QB.

^^It's much cheaper to trade for the top pick than trade 2 #1's (this year and next year) for Lamar and then spend $250 million+ to sign him. The cost just to acquire the right to sign Lamar is incredibly prohibitive.

A 26 year old MVP who is going to take up a huge chunk of cap room and no top end rookies to add cheap talent to the roster for 2 years. There's a reason why hardly anyone ever tends offers to players on non-exclusive franchise tags and it's not because they aren't good. I absolutely love watching Lamar play, but it's bad business to trade 2 firsts for him right now (as it would be for any other player in his situation) when he's not under contract.

Also i don't really mind trading Moore. His big extension was kicking in this season and I'm not sold on him ever becoming a guy who can put up double digit touchdowns.

Lol but yeah i would expect a new coaching staff to retool the offense. I would argue that the team doesn't have a ton of holes, but the ones they do have are positions that catch passes (and QB but that is going to be addressed now obviously.)

WR - probably the biggest need on the team, they will definitely address this in the draft/FA
TE - not really sure the Thomas/Tremble combo is the answer. Could definitely use an upgrade here
RB - re-sign foreman if you can, add some other dudes because Hubbard sucks

OL is fine and defense is strong across the board.

They Panthers still have their own 2nd round pick (#39 overall), a 3rd, 2 4ths and a 5th in the draft. I'd expect 1-2 pass catchers drafted at a minimum (including both wr and te in that.) Also wouldn't be surprised to see them trade down a little to add some later round picks. Obviously they aren't going to go into the season with Marshall and Shenault as your guys.

Maybe Nuke wants to come home to play, but I bet he signs with a team that's a contender, not one trying to rebuild an offense with a brand new coach. I hear Robbie Anderson is available lol

There's been a lot of smoke that we like 2-3 of the top guys at QB. If that's the case, I'd be shocked if we don't try and trade down to parlay our costs into a few extra picks. My assumption is we'll go with Stroud since he 100% fits Reich's mold (tall, mostly), but I could be convinced enough FO meddling takes place we could go either way.

Either way, I'd be shocked if our highest pick isn't used for a pass catching TE, which this class luckily has tons of. Depending on how things shake out, we trade down from 1 and use whatever value we get to pick one of the best receiving option available (WR or TE) -- there's plenty of value out there -- and then focus on our other options.
