^^yeah, it should be. There are so many breweries spread out around Raleigh, it would probably be a good idea for us to map out a route

I found one of those new DFH/Sierra Nevada IPA glasses at Sam's today for $3 and couldn't resist, especially since it was 1/3 of what it costs on their websites:

I figure I'll break it in with some Stone Enjoy By IPA

Just got a bottle of that for a 1:1 trade of Crooked Stave Origins, glad to hear it's worth it.

Prairie Standard tonight, wicked good, best brewery out of OK for sure.

Got tickets again this year to Avery's Sour Fest, feeling extremely lucky when it comes to tickets, the last year pretty much all the big festivals have sold out near instantaneous and somehow I've lucked out with tickets... probably my last year with my first child on the way.

I don't know if any of ya'll ever get out this way, but did anybody try out some of the small batch runs from Carolina Brewery? I tried this one in Pittsboro a couple of weeks ago and loved it. Went back and grabbed a couple of bombers:

Also, not sure if anybody has heard or cares, but Carrboro has a brewery now too. Steel String:

My local Trader Joe's, in walking distance, is now regularly stocking Speedway Stout. This might be dangerous.

I just did the Cicerone Beer Server certification and it was really a joke. I would be really upset if my employer weren't paying for it.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Mystery Brewing Company.

The family and I tried the new brew pub this past weekend in Hillsborough. They just opened a couple weeks ago. I was really impressed with their house beers as well as the guest taps and wine selection.

http://www.mysterybrewing.com/

Their website says they have beers in a bunch of Raleigh restaurants. Give them a try.

just opened a laughing dog rocketdog rye ipa. really strong citrus smell. really terrible oxidized flavor. was really excited based on the hop and grain profile, but really terrible. did not make it past 3 sips. worse than any homebrew I've had.

^^^Yea I agree with you. I took the wife and kids to Hillsborough BBQ for Mothers Day because a coworker who lives up there had highly recommended it to me. The BBQ was good, the Pub House was very nice, and the family went down and got some Maple View Farms ice cream at The Depot. We spent a couple of hours just hanging around down there. Wonderful place!

Anybody picked up Smuttynose Vunderbar?

I think it's a damn good summer beer, clean and crisp but with just enough of a hoppy bite.

We talked about "everyday beers" a few pages back...and I'm updating my list to include Sweetwater IPA. I've slowly come around on IPAs (I've been extremely picky with them in the past)...and this one is always available at the Teeter we go grocery shopping at. Really easy drinking IPA and I can put down two or three in between getting home from work and while firing up the grill.
