i don't see how that's possible unless it's a brand new label

Either it's a new label or NC ABC has apparently "found a problem" that it didn't "find" before.

repost:

ABC site lists it as approved... but I don't know what/when that applies to. Still haven't seen any and my local store says the distributor has been delaying deliveries but won't say why.

What the hell is wrong with the label? It's...rather plain.

Anyway, I had some recently, and will be buying more. One of my favorites of fall. But I'm in VA so that may be of limited relevance. (I actually got mine at Kroger, for that matter.)

Also, this is kind of interesting:

Had one of my top beers of all times last night. An even more impressive feat because most of my favorite beers are stouts and porters...but this was a double IPA. Westbrook has collaborated with the owners for the past two years and made two batches of their Citrus Ninja Exchange, which is great by itself. I've snagged a growler plus some bottles the last couple years and it's one of my favorite double IPAs.

But last week they took the Citrus Ninja and added fresh ginger, chili peppers, and habanero a to make just one keg of the Spicy Ninja. I was worried about the spice (have had plenty of beers that overdid it) so I only got a small growler, but it was phenomenal. I like citrus hops, which this has the right amount of...but it's the spicy kick finish you get from the peppers at the end that make this beer great. I've never had a double IPA go down so fast. If not for the abv, I could have put down five of these last night. I'm going to shoot Westbrook an email and beg them to make more and bottle this.

They've always got plenty at the beer exchange and bottles and brushes. I know CBX will ship it to you.

The Epic Big Bad Baptist I had the other night had the biggest coffee notes of any beer I've ever had (in a good way). Holy cow, that is delicious if you're a coffee drinker.

I had it at The Whig in Columbia a few weekends ago. It was interesting to say the least...the saltiness is very strange.

Total Wine in North Hills had cases of Warlock when I was in there on Saturday. Picked one up for myself..it'll either be consumed in the next month or will be held for at least a year, based on current consumption rate.

Warlock was horrible. Way too sweet

I picked up a couple bottles of Enjoy By 11.12.13. Drank one tonight and was not as impressed as I was with the variation I drank back in April. It was hoppy, but not nearly as fresh as I anticipated it would taste

Has anyone been able to find Spaten Oktoberfest this year? Normally it's one of the easier Oktoberfests to locate but I haven't seen it *anywhere* this year.

I'm in Richmond, worth noting, but I'm curious if it's showed up in the triangle or if the disappearance is merely local.

I guess I should be impressed by that large list of beers, but I feel like if you didn't drink more than 6 oz of a particular brew, it's hard to take credit for drinking it.

Breakfast Stout finally popped up in-stock near me so I bought 2 4-packs.

I also picked up a couple Samuel Smith Winter Welcome's and a SS Yorkshire Stingo while I was there. The WW is just a cheap bargain beer this time of year. I've never had the Stingo but heard really good things.

did we discuss this earlier in this thread?

Growler stations now legal in NC. I know a few of my shops in CLT have begun to install them and will start filling very soon.

^ Do you have any idea if that means anything on tap is available for Growler's? Wonder if they'll have specific ones that they will / will not fill.

I'm drinking some right now. Why wouldn't NC ABC approve a 7% ABV beer?

Dang, y'all drink some fancy beer.

I've had the opportunity to make my own six packs at Food Lion and Harris Teeter--LOL. For various reasons, I've been emphasizing North Carolina beers and random pale ales. But I just wanted to post that Shiner Holiday Cheer is seriously delicious. I know nothing about it except that it's sooooo good.

It was one of two holiday beers I included in my most recent six pack, and I am super pumped for the holidays now. It's gonna be nothing but Christmas beers and Budweiser from here until New Years--and maybe several other beers that I'm emotionally attached to.

Finally got a chance to try Dogfish Head Bitches' Brew on Friday. That's some seriously good shit.

Also good (though not on the same level) is the Rum Pumpkin put out by Hardywood (craft brewery here in Richmond). It's a Pumpkin ale aged in caribbean dark rum barrels, as the name might imply. Very tasty, the rum flavor really comes through, plus it packs a punch (10.5%). Nice big fall beer, but not too in-your-face.

Avery Rumpkin doing it for awhile, incredible beer, but more like 15-18% Drinks like a port.
