is that like conservatives massively increasing the deficit for failed economic theory to give peanuts to the working class and cost them more in the long run, but hey this company with billions in profits is giving a one time bonus to workers so it's okay.

[Edited on December 22, 2017 at 9:31 AM. Reason : i wonder if the workers scheduled to be layed off still get the bonus]

I think most conservatives would agree with you that there is a deficit problem, which nearly doubled with the previous administration. The logical next step would be to cutting some of the spending that is causing the deficit.

You sound like Lucille Bluth. But yes, please continue to argue that bonuses and investment in innovation is bad for the working class.

If you are worried about the deficit (and are you conflating debt with deficit?? Because Obama had a High deficit thanks to stimulus in 2009-10 but it came way down after and is set to go up again) you don’t pass a tax cut without a definitive cut in spending. You cant possibly think the Senate would pass a 60 vote welfare reform, can you?

conservatives don't really care about debt or deficits (they re-elected bush), i was just pointing out the hypocrisy

the nobody giving a shit about the deficit problem is an old people problem, not a party affiliation problem

How on earth would they be able to pass that in the Senate without reconciliation. Unless you’re thinking McConnell is gonna blow up the filibuster.

Thats because "conservatives" aren't actually conservative about anything except helping the vulnerable. Libertarians are the only real conservatives.

Let's just fill the government up with Trump's liars. Jesus christ this shit is literally on tape.

^^I hate to say it but I think Rand is attempting to be consistent, that is, going off of the reports about FBI officials (really, just McCabe and Storzk) as of late.

It's stupid but I mean here's the thing. Let them investigate it. They'll either find something and we'll be better off or they'll find nothing and we can move on. I do not think there is enough reporting or evidence to place this in priority over the Russian investigation but I'm not really opposed to it being investigated if it will shut them up once it comes out there's nothing there.

Thats the thing tho. The can of worms is wide open and now politicians will want to investigate the shit out of anything they don't like.

You are correct. But at the moment, if that is what it takes to keep them from interfering with Meuller's investigation then I'm willing to accept that. That is how important I believe it is and I believe at the end of it the counter reaction against the GOP for being so obstructive to it will shut down any further baseless investigations.

I don't think people like HCH actually care about that. They have their mind made up either way. I'd love to hear him speak for himself but I take it as they think the tax cuts are great for the economy and great for them personally so then they look for ways to refute the criticisms of it to convince others with things said others probably want to hear.

Wouldn't you still have supported the bill if you knew this was going to happen or if you knew raises weren't going to happen.

Mike Huckabee blessed us with this flaming take earlier:

"Churchill was hated by his own party, opposition party, and press. Feared by King as reckless, and despised for his bluntness. But unlike Neville Chamberlain, he didn't retreat. We had a Chamberlain for 8 yrs; in @realDonaldTrump we have a Churchill."

You don’t want to recall them, that’s why. Obama held a five or six hour live bipartisan session on healthcare. He actually understood policy too.

If this isn’t extended to the other states that have requested it what is the recourse? It very well may be so this question may be moot but if not surely this is corruption in the open..

It is! Only one side keeps moving the goalposts. I get that it’s not the rank and files fault the President is easily manipulated but the refusal to fund CHIP for months and now holding it over the Democrats heads is 100% bad faith... but again, I freely admit it will make at least some blame Democrats.
