That would have to be me;

-Taken a few hours ago.

My friend Rex w/the red GT3 also uses his Porsche to transport his bikes;

-A lot more exotic than a lowly C2 with GT3 suspension.

Ahmet, you need to watch your white balance. Rex's car is way more red than that. That photo makes it look orange.

wow, Syme, when you posted the first pic, which is of a superformance coupe (http://www.superformance.com/coupe.aspx), I expected the pic from your cell phone to show one of the cheaper kit replicas of the shelby daytona coupe, like one of these:

http://www.factoryfive.com/coupehome.html
http://www.leshermotorsports.com/gallery/lmgallery/gallery-demo-p/index.html
http://www.shellvalley.com/Replicas_and_Jeeps/Daytona_Replica/

...but that indeed appears to be the "real mccoy" insofar as the original car wasn't really a set quantity, what with there being like 6 made, and they're all somewhat different from one another... I consider the current superformance coupe to be the "genuine" daytona coupe for any point in history, the original cars being little more than prototypes for the only car with a development time longer than the lexus lf-a's

I really want to build the GTM kit car from Factory Five Racing.. Uses a lot of parts from a C5 but the frame and all is included in the kit

Some of them have turned out awesome

^ oh yeah, I love that GTM too. sexxxxy.

factory five's best work is definitely when they try to be original. as much as I like the superformance coupe, the factory five version doesn't attract me nearly as much as the gtm would probably satisfy a lot of my ford gt fetish. And that's completely without speaking of actual performance. just lust factor.

Not sure how many of you are in Charlotte, but there's a garage that regularly has 3-4 Lamborghini's and a few Vipers parked around it. It's near the intersection of Griffith Road and Westpark Road near I-77.

Mark, the GT3 picture was taken by Rex, I've got nothing to do with it. The picture of my car, that's all me...

Anyway, if you guys like these cars so much, why don't you come to a track event, I've seen every car posted on this page on track in the last two months.

that's underground racing. arguably the premier viper/lambo tuner out there. they currently hold the record for the fastest and quickest gallardo and as well as several viper records.

Since you guys consider these exotics;

I have to admit, as a coupe I like it MUCH better.

BTW, the picture of the red GT3 was not taken by me, so I accept no responsibility for that shot... That's all Rex's doing, on his iPhone I believe.

^unusual in a tasteful way yes. Not necessarily foreign, although I guess that's what a majority of exotics are.

I was first going to say no way, but really I don't want to come across as a meanie head. Would you do it if you had $50k laying around? I don't think I'd buy that car regardless of how much money I had... An Aston Martin DB7-9 though... Now there's a car that at least looks good while being unreliable and impractical.

That car does look good! As new there are so many better choices for the money though...but for 50k...mayhaps.

and ahmet...i don't ever want to hear you talk about unreliable... you've yet to own a reliable car

You can easily get the same car for around $30K. Foriegn Cars Italia has an 02 Spyder with 12K miles on it and wants $33K for it.

The interior looks like crap (what do they call it? Tobacco brown?) though. And the back end makes me think of a Volvo for some reason.

drove home next to a brand new maserati yesterday... didn't snap a picture or anything though.

also, kind of funny: an intern at my wife's work last year would occasionally drive an R8 to work.
she works for Taylormade/adidas-Golf here in san diego. apparently this intern's dad is like Germany's biggest talk show host.
