Snape's troubled look gave it away (at the end of Half Blood Prince)
It was hard to tell in the book

and on that note, my contribution to the thread is:

The book was better!

Dogtooth - Really made me think about the power of authority figures and how our reality is shaped by them.

Phoenix - Great acting and amazing final scene. It took a while for me to feel the intensity of the situation though.

The Martian - The Shit

Mocking Jay Part 2 - Terrible derivative Nolan crap.

Crimson Peak - Great set design but kinda forgettable in my opinion.

Did you guys watch movie? It was so movie, but I still thought movie was worth money. I think actor would have been a better choice than actor for the leading role, but overall movie is well produced and is entertaining.

Movie tried to strike the balance between Blockbuster and Film, and ended up being as good as neither.

Watched "Look Who's Back" on Netflix the other day.

It is sort of like a German Borat, but with more of it scripted, and also the main character is Hitler. Pretty scathing satire of German politics, extremely (but unintentionally) relevant to the US presidential race, and also actually quite funny at times in spite of having been written and performed by the most comically-impaired country in Europe.

There was a really low-key movie on Netflix..another vampire apocalypse story kinda like I Am Legend, called Stakeland, that I actually really liked. I'd like to see a sequel to it.

If you haven't watched it and like those types of movies, I'd recommend it.

no one's excited about the warcraft movie eh ?

lol the reviews are epicly negative. I guess no one else is either.

although people who actually play the game seem to have a different opinion

https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/4lpyza/warcraft_movie_megathread/

one review said there were "silly names" and too much "fantasy gibber-jabber"

saw the warcraft movie last night, and it was ok. it was like 30-45 minutes too short, since there's so much story attempting to be crammed into a 2 hour time limit. they were jumping from scene to scene too fast for anyone not familiar with the story/lore to understand what was actually going on.

the orc storyline was really good and had good character development especially with durotan and gul'dan. surprisingly, the CGI turned out to be great as well.

the human storyline was weak. you really didn't get to know most of the characters and felt like they were just kinda there. the only cool thing was the special effects of the magic used by khadgar and medivh.

there were a few differences from the original lore, but none that really affected the enjoyment of the film as a whole. it's clear they are planning/hoping to make sequel(s) based off how it ended.

Duncan jones actually said this was on purpose in one interview.. he said he was worried that people would just associated orcs with barbarians and blood lust.

saw the movie tonight. Not schindlers list, but a fantastic movie to me... I disagree with most if not all of the critical complaints about the movie. My wife has never played a video game and had no trouble following any of the story lines...

the only thing that confused her was why Blackhand and Durotan were initially spared in the ambush to which I replied, "oh ... yah they're not all infected" and she said "oh got it"

the people who couldnt understand the first 40 minutes of the movie are the same people that couldnt tell which robots were bad in the transformer movie fights.

Watched a few movies the past week.
Ex Machina was a really good scifi flick, has a Black Mirror vibe if you're into that show.
In the Loop was funny but really british and I think my dad hated it.
A Most Violent Year was a solid film too. A little slow but builds a good amount of tension throughout. Ending didn't quite have the impact I was hoping.

Saw Mr. Holmes yesterday and really enjoyed it. Not exactly a typical Sherlock mystery but I like aging/senile depiction of his character.

I saw it on Amazon Prime. I'm not going to spoil anything in case you don't know what it's about, but it's pretty good and worth seeing. I liked the direction the second half took.

^ Can't wait for the next installment of that.

I caught The Lobster on a flight and instantly loved it. I went to check if it was on Redbox because I've been waiting to watch it with my wife. My god, the user reviews. Most of the population consists of basic minded trash.

Tom Hardy and Jared Leto refuse to age. They still look like they are in their late 20s.

Speaking of Denzel I watched The Equalizer two weeks ago. Made me think of that cliche thread. There was not one point where he was ever in danger. Way to long too; needed to cut a few scenes to get it under two hours.

Watched Foxcatcher and really enjoyed it. Really well acted and kept the tension throughout most of the film. I wish they would have gotten into du Ponts motivation a little more after his mother died. Loved the scene where he was trying to impress her by teaching the fellas some wrestling moves.

Watched the trailer for the movie The Accountant recently. Had a small shot of Jeffrey Tambor apparently giving someone advice across a table while in a prison outfit
https://youtu.be/fkPJ3aENjvM?t=1m41s

Couldn't help but imagine him saying "There's always money in the Banana Stand"
