^^I'm glad to see this. The one area where KK has failed is the home ooc schedule. All of the big games have been on the road, or at neutral sites. In 22/23 we played Kansas and Vanderbilt at neutral sites. In 23/24 we were at Ole Miss and then played Vanderbilt, BYU, and Tennessee all at neutral sites. We should always have a P5 game at home even if they are awful because they'll still be a more entertaining game than 99% of the matchups with 1 bid conference teams. 5/27/2024 9:58:17 AM |

I see Joe Lunardi has us as his last four out in his bracketology. How dare he after our magical run. He also only has 6 ACC teams so the hate continues. I’ll give him a little bit of a break because it’s hard to project teams these days with all the transfer portal. 7/31/2024 8:58:24 PM |

Wake preseason 3rd in the ACC. Gonna need to see it before I believe it. Everybody seems to really like Forbes. But he seems like a poor man’s Kevin Keatts. Good offense. Mediocre defense. And last I checked he has 0 ACC titles 10/15/2024 6:16:54 PM |

Im not sure which one you mean in that last sentence but Kevin Keatts has one acc championship

Yes. Thats what makes Forbes a poor man’s Kevin Keatts. Keatts has a title. Bum Forbes does not.

Is Keatts now the most decorated active coach in the ACC? 10/17/2024 5:37:44 PM |

James curle on Twitter thinks this is the first time since 1982 the acc doesn't have a natl champ winning coach
As for what you asked I'm not sure whether he is the MOST decorated, but he is certainly the most RECENTLY decorated. Because we won the acc championship and made the final four last season.

Larranaga has him beat. And Hubert Davis unless you throw out his first year, which I'd be perfectly fine with :-D. Can't think of anyone else with a final four though. I thought maybe Andy Enfield or Leonard Hamilton, but neither has made it past the elite 8.

Idk how you would define best or more decorated. But off the top of my head I would say you’d need recent success. A conference title in recent years. A deep tournament run in recent years. Can’t be just a one off either. Probably need consecutive appearances in the NCAAT. If you made the tourney in 2024 but not in 2023, that seems disqualifying. Need to have been at your current job more than a couple years. And it would help if you didn’t inherit a winning program. It’s far easier to keep winning than to build a winner. And lastly, I think a good measuring stick of success would be what’s the most consecutive elimination games you’ve won? Because if it’s, say, 9…well that’s a lot!
Does any coach fit that description? Probably not.
[Edited on October 18, 2024 at 6:42 AM. Reason : Maybe Steve Forbes? People seem to love him, he’s probably had lots of postseason success] 10/18/2024 6:42:03 AM |
