When I went to bed 4 hours after the shooting they were saying 2 dead (plus shooter) and 20 injured. I'm not with all that false flag stuff on the internet but I would like to know how the death toll went up so much. Former military who were there were interviewed as eyewitnesses saying they thought it was fireworks and knew what gunfire sounded like. So many people said they initially thought it was fireworks.

^Had ten weapons found in his hotel room and he checked in the 28th. He either had lot of clips or he had one or two per gun and had ten guns lined up ready to fire.

As for getting that shit in, I can totally believe it. When I was at Mandalay there was no security sweep or metal detector. It was busy with lots of people carrying large bags. Guy could have disassembled some of them or just had some large luggage to conceal it. Nobody would bat an eye in the casinos, unless the end of rifle was sticking out.

Maybe it sounds different in person but watching some of the videos that sounded nothing like fireworks to me it sounded like automatic gunfire. I could understand the confusion though since the guy was in a high rise across the street not in the vicinity.

^^Meh, I can see it. What do most people hear in an average lifetime that sounds like fairly rapid popping noises especially at night? 95% of folks are going to think fireworks, not automatic gunfire. Former vets may know otherwise but I have only on occasion heard automatic weapons fire in real life so if I'm hanging on the strip and heard something like that it would take a few seconds for your brain to process how out of the ordinary this actually is. At first it rejects that and associates it with more standard situations or noises, hence why fireworks often come up. I can't remember the technical term for this.

It's more the rhythm of the sound of the shots than anything that would alert me that it's not fireworks. Reddit has good info on it.

YEah, they have a picture of him floating around now too, White haired older guy who lived in a retirement home in NV, had been in the room for 3 days. Had a huge stash of weapons and ammo apparently.

Some are saying 400 injured is the more approximate number.

I thought the same thing at first, but the more I listen to it the more I think it was some type of LMG. The cycling rate seemed extremely even until later on, almost like the gas port of whatever he was shooting was starting to gunk up. it's hard to tell how consistent the shooting was between the echoes and the two different sounds of reports and supersonic cracking.

^^Charles Whitman carried 7 guns up into the Texas belltower and did almost all of his shooting with one rifle. The rest were backups and/or for guarding the door to the tower. Until the police come out with information, this is all just speculation.

^^Yeah all speculation. Just heard the news with a "gun expert" this morning saying the timing didn't fit for him to actually change clips and his suspicion was that he used multiple guns and just dropped one and grabbed another.

Will be interesting to see the motive, if even had one.

^^that sounds ridiculous though; you can change a mag in a couple seconds, depending on the rifle. I could imagine the guy changing guns because the barrels were overheating, but not for ease of reloading.
