10 pages of stonks

I actually have my retirement and hsa through work with Fidelity, so that will be easy to set up a brokerage account and switch to. But I’m anticipating more bullshit with my current Ally account tomorrow. Unlike Robinhood, who just wouldn’t let you buy, Ally claims technical difficulties last 2 days as soon as market opens and can’t access account at all until about 3pm.

I grabbed BB and GME using TD Ameritrade, had an existing account. Nice to be able to do an ACH transaction and buy within thirty minutes. Looks like after hours trading is making up on the closing price. Friday gonna be a roller coaster, going to be fun hanging on for the ride.

If you don't already read Matt Levine religiously...then you should. If you have any consternation about why Robinhood and other retail brokers are reacting the way they are then understanding a bit about the plumbing of how the financial industry actually works is insightful and helpful. Robinhood's actions in and of themselves should not be in question here. Their actually problem is one of transparency and the poor communications around these actions and the underlying motivations.

AMC and bb never had the metrics behind them like gme. Gme is a shaky bet as it is, but amc and bb seem like just dumb plays unless you’re looking at intraday volatility. Speaking of dumb plays, I did buy a little bit of doge in case it moons but I’m pretty sure I’m losing that money...

The conditions aren't there for some of the other 'hype' stocks to do what GME is doing. GME is more heavily shorted than the others.

That said, AMC is nearly 80% short interest and ranked #2 on the list of high short interest stocks by percentage (GME is still #1 at 121%). Think it ends up being a self-fulfilling prophecy, folks are doubling down on the shorts because they know its overvalued but if there's enough hype, then we could see another GME. It wasn't ranked that high the week prior, a lot of what's added is likely from what happened this week.

BB doesn't have the same short potential, it has been touted as more of a long term buy. They're partnering with blue chippers on things like EV and such and folks are banking on them riding the coattails to success.

I'm wondering how long the Robinhood out transfer is going to take. I had two small transfers in from earlier in the month and they still show as pending even though they've cleared my bank account.

The two small transfers was the only amount I couldn't transfer out. If the orders out are backed up and they have actual liquidity issues I may be looking at a hell of a wait time.

I was not charged to transfer out.

I initiated a transfer from RH to fidelity on wednesday, and i was able to spend it in fidelity on thursday.

My Fidelity let me start trading incoming money right away, pretty sure that was before I made it a margin account too

Maybe because the incoming part was a small % of my holdings so they knew they could get their $ if the transfer failed

Thats why I got in, for the EV and work with Amazon they're doing. It just so happened to be when prices were highest for BB at the time when all the other meme stocks were taking off.

I'm not worried about BB, that is a long term hold for me like Cleanspark was.

AMC is the worry that I have, considering it's been shorted but not like GME. I believe if it gets over 16 Tomorrow I will sell and wait for a drop in AMC. I missed out on GME.

I did a full account transfer to fidelity from robinhood (didn’t liquidate just transferred positions, so $75 fee but didn’t lose long term capital gains status) on Wednesday after the bullshit. The transfer is already pending in my fidelity acct, glad to see robinhood didn’t play any games with the transfer.
