They are really doing this.

The media will report it as good faith and a large group of people will believe it.

This directly relates to my last post.

Implicitly running on saying Dems are going to take away pre-existing coverage and Medicare while explicitly saying we need to cut “entitlements” to pay for tax cut deficits is astounding... and yet the media will continue to both sides the fuck out of it and act like these contradictions are good faith.

It’s amazing to me that the media gives Paul Ryan a complete pass on ever having to comment about a literal white supremacist in his caucus.

I guess that happens when an entire media institution buys into the whole fake policy wonk bullshit.

It’s amazing to me Cruz is running on protecting pre-existing conditions.

There’s only 2 ways to cover pre-existing conditions...
Make the government cover it basically massively expanding government healthcare programs

Or force private insurers to do it which is literally why ACA exists.

It’s really uncivil to claim that just because a bomb was found in George Soros’ home mailbox that the current GOP talking points had anything to do with it.

Please, think of the discourse.

^^ i'm fascinated that so many educated, accomplished people with leadership backgrounds happily debase themselves just because Trump does it too.

You'd think more of these supposed leaders would have more integrity... Ted Cruz might be the worse amongst them.

Back to this again. How can this possibly be combatted? The entire GOP is just straight up lying about this. Not engaging in politics but straight up and flat out lying to our faces. It’s well and good to say that the public is too smart to fall for it but they clearly aren’t. Especially with the breathless beating of any narrative in the entire MSM and especially the right wing echo chamber.

It’s becoming a real problem and it’s impossible to combat.

I held a pretty low opinion of the GOP’s tax plan, but holy shit:

https://www.businessinsider.com/new-us-debt-in-2018-how-much-highest-recession-2018-10

There is now way I would have predicted a $1.3 Trillion deficit in year one. Shit is going worse than even the worse projections of the tax plan. It’s unbelievable they aren’t being crucified for this.

I seem to recall conservatives losing their minds over the potential trillion dollar deficit that the Affordable Care Act would have created.

It's bizarre that they aren't as outraged over the recent tax cut's trillion dollar deficit.

My congressman stood on the floor of Congress and told us that the federal deficit was the greatest existential threat to The USA.

That was only 4 years ago.

He turned around and passed Trump’s budget and their tax cuts with glee. No one, NO ONE has even questioned how he positions himself as a “small government conservative.”

Yeah, the whole deficit hawk shit is just another form of projection. Obama inherited a $1.4 trillion deficit due to economic crisis and eventually got it below $500 billion while expanding access to healthcare. Trump has gotten it over a trillion again in less than 2 years, and for what? Booming economy, no wars, and a reduction (not expansion) of government services.

You didn't hear Scott Pruitt complain about money problems. He used his bootstraps, got out there and found a nice lobbyist couple to lease him a modest Capital Hill condo. His aides found him a used mattress and hotel hand lotion. Pruitt even called up Dan Cathy to find his wife a job at a fast food restaurant.

This story shows AOC for the entitled, lazy, Millennial snowflake she is. She should be out there hustling, not complaining on Twitter.

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/12/04/exclusive-emails-of-top-nrcc-officials-stolen-in-major-2018-hack-1043309

Quote :
"The House GOP campaign arm suffered a major hack during the 2018 election, exposing thousands of sensitive emails to an outside intruder, according to three senior party officials.

The email accounts of four senior aides at the National Republican Congressional Committee were surveilled for several months, the party officials said. The intrusion was detected in April by an NRCC vendor, who alerted the committee and its cybersecurity contractor. An internal investigation was initiated and the FBI was alerted to the attack...

However, senior House Republicans — including Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) — were not informed of the hack until POLITICO contacted the NRCC on Monday with questions about the episode. Rank-and-file House Republicans were not told, either."

I wanna keep close track of McConnell over the next 4weeks ITT. Part of me knows this shitpile can slither out anything, but he’s also getting sucked into a trumpian vortex. He’s basically between a “Trump shutdown” (Trump-McConnell shutdown?), pleading with trump to sign whatever Congress can actually pass or faking his own death (and that’s not even getting into Trump’s/GOP’s/NRA’s legal troubles or that there are like 5 other important bills that they wanna pass or that the house is about to flip)

I won’t lie, I’m enjoying what I hope are some sleepless nights for him.

Not sure this belongs here since the rules are the rules... but is it not slightly insane that Sinema is going to be the junior Senator from Arizona while the woman she beats gets appointed as the senior Senator?

I know seniority doesn’t really matter anymore but it blows my mind there isn’t a mandatory special election law for Senators.

i'm confused, isn't junior/senior just based on who's been in office longer?
