eek. I thought I might fare a little better than that, given it is a blizzard game and I was always able to play Blizzard games on mediocre computers. Perhaps if I am able to resurrect that old gaming computer with a fresh install of Win 7 I can throw a 2nd 7800GT in there for cheap since I have an open slot.

Actually, would it be better to run dual 7800GTs or get a new sub $100 card (assuming I can find one compatible with my 6 year old motherboard)

its almost as if people have never experienced a blizzard launch before

my favorite is people bitching on the forums about how Blizzard owes them compensation for taking a vacation day for launch and not being able to play.

pronoobtip: Spell damage is based on percentage of weapon damage. Took me a bit to figure that out, wondering why at lvl 8 my wizard was still doing almost the same damage as lvl 1.

Yep, the starter wand had 3 dmg, replaced it with a short bow that did 12 and my spell crits went from 8 to 45.

I think this might apply to all class abilities, not just Wizard.

All abilities are based off of weapon damage, but eventually you'll start getting items that are class specific

I have played since 830am with no hiccups as my demon hunter with the templar follower and his shield.

This server maintenence is the only downtime ive had all day. Guess Im fortunate.

Honestly, a game as popular as this that sold a gazillion copies already, I was actually surprised that the servers worked long enough for me to play the few hours that I did play already today. Great launch, all things considered.

I played literally from 9 to 5 without getting up, only problem was lag maybe 2 or 3 times all day. Solid release imo

That is seriously ridiculous. I hope they experience a lot of backlash over that decision... but they wont.

And hearing people have already beat two difficulties isn't that inspiring either... even if they did play non-stop it still sounds far too short. A really short game where one playthrough nets the exact same result as the previous playthrough due to lack of stat assignments or skill selection and it sounds like a $40 max title.

I keep replaying the one comment in my mind about how if this game didn't have "Diablo" or "Blizzard" attached to it that no one would pay it any mind. I don't aim to sound like Debby Downer because I LOVED Diablo 1 & 2, but so far, this game feels like it should have come out years ago.

While I think this game is fun, and great, I question the replay value of it. After you max out a character, and unlock all the skills whats the point of starting another character of the exact same class? Fors example, you could make a Paladin into a Smitter, and Hammerin, etc, or you could make the Amazon into a Javizon or a Bowazon. There doesn't seem to be any need to respec your character here since there is really nothing to respec. I hope I am wroing about this, someone plz put me on the up and up about this shizz.


^ two great Diablo clones are coming, Path of Exile (in beta right now) which is free-to-play, and Torchlight 2 (also in beta) that costs on $20. So, that commment baout Diablo, Blizzard to totally wrong - the name is just more popular.

i don't think there is one, unless you're rolling a new character with a friend or something. i really hope blizzard has a change of heart about the skills system and patches in something different, but i doubt that would ever happen.

maybe the point is to not waste your time maxing out characters of the same class and instead invite you to spend that time playing and trying out different skill combinations. especially when playing with a party.

then again maybe it's stupid, pandering to the casual player, etc., etc. Anyone know if hardcore mode allows respec?
