That article was written long after her trip to Syria which actually resonated with a lot of people. Most americans don't want to fight a war on the side of ISIS and a lot of Americans don't want war at all.

She's lost any chance of getting the neocon vote but if democrats are looking to secure neocons, they've already lost.

Yep. Depending on how many more top level celebrities and people in positions of power fall due to shit like this, we'll likely see an increase in the populist rumblings that got Trump elected, not a decrease.

I'm not entirely sure in this case. I will say, though, that the picture of him on CNN doesn't appear to be anything more than a joke to me. I'm not sure how you could actually grope someone through a flak jacket...

I'm not saying it's tasteful. I'm also not saying she wasn't asked to pretend to be asleep and I'm not saying she wasn't actually asleep.

I'm simply saying that from that picture alone, I'm not sure how he was expecting to "cop a feel" through armor. I also don't know why a sitting US Senator would pose for a photo if he wasn't intending for it to be a joke.

Thankfully none of that is up to me to decide legally.

This is an easy one. Franken needs to step down, Minnesota's Democrat governor appoints Keith Ellison to his seat. As much as I like Franken, he's got no one to blame but himself on this one, and Ellison or another younger Dem from Minnesota will better for the party in the long run.

Also, this should be a reminder why most smart Dems want Biden to stay away from the 2020 Presidential race. Even if there's nothing to them, there's enough pictures of him acting creepy that it's just not worth the risk.

Exactly. He clearly wasn't touching her (much less groping her)

He wasn't a Senator until 3 years after this pic was taken.

This is mostly outrage culture with a healthy dose of LOOK AT ME by the "gropee" who is a newscaster

^^there is a difference between "touching" and "groping" otherwise every single form of contact would be sexual harassment

also, I believe the bulk of the complaints has to do with an alleged forceful kiss, not the above groping, so that's probably the more important aspect to assess

I don't think he groped her and it's a cringey picture more than anything, but it does suggest he's being demeaning.

But I do think he probably forced a kiss onto her.

However, it's not a pattern of abuse like Weinstein or Moore or Trump or Bill Clinton, yet, but Franken does have some explaining.

I'm not condoning this, but I really don't think this is a big deal. Just like I don't think the Bush Sr. stuff is really a big deal. They should be called-out about it, and hopefully learn a lesson, but it's definitely more sensationalism than substance.

No doubt, it's wrong. But it's not a "simple" issue. Some will try to compare it to what Bill Clinton did (like dtownral), and it's not that simple. Some people will try to compare this to what Roy Moore did, and it's not that simple. Some will try to compare it to what Kevin Spacey did, and it's not that simple. Some will try to compare it to what Weinstein did, and it's not that simple..........

I don't agree with this. It was done in a "sexual" manner, without consent, even if it just a "joke", even if she was wearing a flak jacket.

All I can say is that with any crime, context matters. The context of this, at least at the moment, is far different from the context of what Moore is accused of. As such, any repercussions or fallout or legal penalties should be adjusted to reflect the difference in context.

^lol, says the blatant hypocrite who recently praised trump because of unemployment numbers, but was called-out for criticizing obama for unemployment numbers because "people dropped out of the work force and were unaccounted for". delicious.

Do you care to explain the "hypocrisy"? Is it because some aren't reacting the same way to this as they are to Moore's numerous allegations of pedophilia?

Maybe just look at the responses on this page. But honestly, who cares what a few schmucks on TWW have to say. Already, Democrats are trying to sweep this under the rug. Franken admitted it himself! He needs to resign.

You didn't answer my question, guy (much like you couldn't answer why you praised one president for the same thing you criticized another for), unless you're trying to say the hypocrisy is because people aren't reacting the same way to this as they are to Moore's numerous allegations of pedophilia. So you seem to be equating this to pedophilia. Hypocritical schmuck.

Schumer and Franken have already called for ethics investigations. Compare that to the obfuscation and victim attacks by the GOP on accusers.

Conservatives are desperate AF to get anything to stick to anyone else right now. Sad!

^I've not seen one Republican Senator or Congressman defend Moore. They are all calling for him to drop out of the race.

What is there to investigate? Franken has admitted that it happened. An investigation just sweeps this under the rug, and the Democrats know it.

That sort of black-and-white reasoning is usually utilized by conservatives.

It's wrong, I'd never do it, I condemn Franken and anyone who thinks it's ok, but I don't think it's as baig a deal as molesting children or raping someone. It's gross if you think it is.

"It really shouldn't have surprised anybody that I would be there supporting the Republican nominee to try to keep that seat out of Chuck Schumer's hands," noted Wicker.

"I hope the truth will come out and I'm sure it probably will," Wicker explained. "I just have no idea where the truth is in these allegations. I know they're very very old."

Yes, I've seen one say Tweeden was a playboy playmate, and context matters when a woman is assaulted. But the fact that no one is calling for him to resign is all the coverage he needs.

Where did I compare this to Moore? Can you stop your rationalization of sexual assault?

You should probably read the entire statements you cherry pick here. Context matters with respect to the punishments, not with respect to whether a law was broken.

And yes, it is fair to say that one is less appalling than another. It's literally the reason we have different types of homicide.

I only brought up Moore because of Republican/Conservatives like HCH who are trying to score political points by pointing out the "hypocrisy" of democrats/leftist/liberals/whatevers, and I assume they must be referring to the Moore allegations and the reactions to that.
