^^it's my understanding Howell's just going to the phillipines to play in the Commissioner's Cup, which is already in the quarterfinals round. I don't think he's committing to playing there next season.

So with all the moves the 76ers have made in the last couple of weeks Zo Brown finally found himself settling into the backup PG position, until..... he torn ligaments in his right wrist and is out indefinitely. He's not going to need surgery, but that sucks for him

Man, I don't get some of these folks in the D league. Yeah, it's your dream to make the NBA, but <pulls figure out of ass> 90% of those D league types don't make it, play for peanuts for a few years, then (unless they actually finished college with a degree) have nothing to fall back on. My ass would be overseas playing for 6 figures in a heartbeat.

CJ Williams continues to put up 20 and 30 point games. he has moved into the NBDL top-30 prospects list

FYI, Dennis Horner got traded to the Bakersfield Jam. CJ Leslie traded to Idaho Stampede. Yes, I will be going to the Stampede vs Jam on March 26!!! Stay tuned for pics

"TALK 'N Text rode on the red-hot shooting of its veterans and leaned on the strong defensive presence of import Richard Howell to crush defending champion Alaska, 85-72 in the main game of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup opener Wednesday night at the Mall of Asia Arena."

Quote :
"But the Tropang Texters undeniably got a huge lift from Howell, who finished the game with only 15 points but had a monster 30 rebounds in a dominant debut in Asia’s first ever pro league."

PI!!!1 Costner and CJ Williams on the LA D-Fenders

http://packinsider.com/?p=1054

Quote :
"Costner found his comfort level as well. Though he is scoring a career-low 13 points a game, he has become very effective of late, averaging 16.4 points in the month of February.

Costner says this is a product of his improving health. Last season, Costner broke his shinbone. After mission all of 2012-13, Costner said that the process has been a slow and painful one...."

We've got another center in the league!

Markeisha Gatling is heading to Chicago. 10th pick.

edit: that got me thinking about Summer Erb, also a center. After searching for a little while (and thinking her name was spelled "herb", and getting results ranging from gardening to summer basketball camps to arizona state), i was reminded that she played for the Charlotte Sting for a year, and then played some in Turkey. The latest I could find, with minimal digging, was that she stepped down from an assistant coaching job at UNC-Asheville to "pursue other career opportunities".

CJ is still listed with the Idaho Stampede D-league team. He's actually playing with Dexter Strickland.
http://www.nba.com/dleague/idaho/roster/

On the 3/29/14 game box score it lists him on the roster, then beside his name "DNP - COACH'S DECISION". Last I can find on him.

Quote :
"COURTNEY FELLS, AUSTIN TOROS GUARD/FORWARD
"Courtney had a terrific camp. He was one of the top three players in the camp. I think this summer's going to be a big summer for him. He's either going to break through in Summer League and get with an NBA team, or it's time to go to Europe. People just aren't sure what position he is: Is he a 2 or is he a 3?
"He knows how to play. He's good at everything. He shoots the ball, he runs off screens, he can put it down one or two dribbles and get to the rim. He's a good defender who's long and athletic enough."

CJ LESLIE, IDAHO STAMPEDE FORWARD
"He has to become a more consistent player. Right now he's in between being a 3 and a 4. He's got to improve his skills and become a 3-man if he's going to play in the league.
"He's got to become much more consistent in being able to spot up and shoot the ball, and then when people close out on him, put it down with one or two dribbles without turning it over."

CJ WILLIAMS, LOS ANGELES D-FENDERS GUARD
"He's very consistent in how he plays. If he's open, he's going to make shots. He's got a terrific shot fake, one-dribble pull-up. He's very good at cutting and getting open on cuts late in the shot clock, and he's got long arms and quick feet. He really knows how to play.
"Now he just needs someone to give him an opportunity. I think he showed NBA people that he's a guy that you want in the Summer League." "
