Sid wasted a scholarship on a future NBA-player. Wasted!

For Sid it was a waste, because he never helped develop the kid or get him shape.

NBA shop does not have his jersey on sale yet, therefore I am not currently wearing my Vandenberg Knicks jersey.

I read something about the only reason the Knicks signed him was to keep him on their development team. But he got paid, right?

Speaking of Marcus Melvin...y'all remember that game winner he banked in from like 35' vs Houston when he was at State? Wish I could find video of that.

I seem to recall he missed it, but Anthony Grundy was there for the putback. It was epic.

^^hmm...maybe i'm getting games mixed up. the one i'm thinking of there was a loose ball, maybe nearly turned it over but Melvin scooped it up and heaved it up at the buzzer.

found it
http://www.uhcougars.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/122301aaa.html

Quote :
"Just as they did 20 years ago, North Carolina State upended Houston with a last second shot as Marcus Melvin drilled up a desperation three-point field goal just left from the top of the key to give the Wolfpack a 67-66 victory over Houston in Hofheinz Pavilion Sunday afternoon."

Quote :
"After Sendek called two timeouts, Hodge tried to pass the ball to Clifford Crawford on the left wing. Williams knocked the ball loose from the left baseline back toward the half-court line.

Melvin scrambled for the loose ball and put up a shot that resembled a shot put just as the buzzer sounded. The ball hit nothing but the bottom of the net for the victory.

"When the shot left my hand, I knew it was going to be around the rim," Melvin said. "Actually, I thought it was going to hit off the glass, but it was a swish."
Before the officials called the basket good, referee Kerry Sitton ruled that Melvin had gotten the shot off in time to give the Wolfpack their 10th victory of the season.

"This is one of those times when it is better to be lucky than good," Sendek said. "The ball was bobbled and deflected to Marcus (Melvin) and he took an off balanced shot as time expired. We were fortunate to win the game."

"We worked so hard and deserved to win as much "

I bet Houston hates us.

Grundy had a game winner vs like UNC-G or somebody like that.

but it's cool that a wolfpack alum is a globetrotter. i'm surprised this is the first i've heard about it.

alex johnson has always been an easy player/person to like - for me anyways. he wasn't really that great but his energy, emotion, attitude always seemed really infectious and fun to watch. plus he was part of that sweet 16 run.

why do people still say this about him? For a relief PG he was absolutely great at what he did, and he legitimately had the best pump fake in all of college basketball.

^^well i mean - he was definitely serviceable. it's not like he was walk-on level player who is really likable. i don't mean to talk bad about the guy. and he did have a really good pump fake. he played his role relatively well, although he really didn't shoot that well

we dont get DSJ is Cat's still here. doubt Cat really wishes he stayed another year. he has a daughter to provide for and was ready to start earning pay checks. he did get a decent signing bonus that should keep him in the DLeague this year.
