Hugh Jackman is on the show and in the ring with Dolph Ziggler.

Damien Sandow came out as a poorly dressed Magneto.

(On a side note, I think WWE doesn't think much of Sandow.)

I think unfortunately Ric Flair is reaching the point you can't put him on TV anymore.

I feel bad for Sandow. He was great at his intellectual savior gimmick and they took it away from him.

It'll be interesting to see how big a jump in viewership they have for Extreme Rules between last year and this year. I've never watched a non-big 4 PPV live, but since I've already got the network, I'm probably going to turn to it, at least for a couple matches.

Outside of the Shield and Barrett, a big stinker tonight.

I did like all of the tiny props for the WeeLC match, but the terrible mini announce team and the even worse mini ring announcer killed it for me.

yeah, that was pretty terrible

I actually liked the DBD vs Kane match, reminded me of the Attitude Era. lots of backstage fighting, busted up cars, and a flaming table. the forklift was a nice touch too.

I really dug the WeeLC match, but I'm a sucker for midget wrestling in general so they had me early on.

They shot themselves in the foot having Shield-Evolution so early. That match was incredible.

I like how the guy with the fire extinguisher comes running into the shot to set up in the corner...before Kane even pulls out the gas cans.

Also enjoyed how 2/3 of the names of the mini announce team changed from the beginning of that match to the end.

Very underwhelmed by the show in general. Shield/Evolution was very solid, everything else meh. I like Barrett, but I didn't think that match was anything special. Big E is going to fade into the mist at this point I think, he gets no fucking reaction whatsoever.

This is the thing that gets me. Just a little preparation would've gone a really long way, but instead you've got mid-segment name changes because JBL came up with a better name WHILE WATCHING A MATCH than anyone could muster in the fifteen minutes before the minis went out there.

Couple that with the botching announcer and it was a total shitshow. I would've liked the match by itself as straight comedy, and I appreciate that you have to have a mini announce team to have a mini announce table spot, but I almost turned it off.

this show sucks, they're neutering Bryan, he needs to ditch Brie as far as being with her all the time on TV, they just had a skit worthy of the Kane/Cena/Zack Ryder/Eve Torres angle.

(Bryan did have a good match with del Rio)

some odds and ends things you may or may not find interesting:

-Ring of Honor will be having two shows the coming two weekends with a lot of talent from New Japan Pro Wrestling, you can get them on UStream (although in June they're going to do TV-based PPV as opposed to iPPV)

-speaking of which, A.J. Styles became New Japan's top champion

-Chris Benoit's oldest son David is going to make his pro wrestling debut this summer, think he'll use the name David Benoit. For his debut he'll be tagging in a Calgary promotion with Chavo Guerrero, a friend of his dad's.

-Mason Ryan was released by WWE, other name of note released was Eddie and Vickie Guerrero's daughter in NXT, Raquel Diaz

-the Hardy Boys' match with the Briscoes in Cameron, N.C. sold out the building (1100 fans)

-WWE had pretty disappointing financial results, and look to be trying to amp up the network: first, they fired the head of programming, and then John Cena was not on Raw last night at all the night after he lost a cage match to Bray Wyatt, they announced on the show he'll be doing a promo on Network show tonight Main Event

-WWE are probably going to sign super good Japanese wrestler KENTA

-Goldberg is interested in doing WrestleMania 31

Losing dark matches before a internet streaming only show is a good way to not be on the roster for much longer. Sandow's drop has to be one of the fastest ever. From solid MOTB cash-in match to less than afterthought in rapid fashion. At least Cena really needed that win.

The cash-in was when they killed him. A guy coming off a busted arm just barely beat a guy whose damn finishing move is an armbar. Then Sandow ambushes him, still attacking the bad arm, and loses the cash-in match clean. It was so horrible.

The reason for the cash-in in hindsight was they made the decision to unify the two titles, if you're doing that you don't want Sandow to be one of the two, and they had made the decision that Sandow is not worth much, so they just wrote out his Money in the Bank stipulation. I'm not of the opinion every cash-in should win as WWE had pretty much done up to that point, the Money in the Bank cash-in had become cliche (ex-John Cena getting screwed out of winning at Raw 1000 in C.M. Punk's heel turn). Swagger for example should've never won the title.

For fastest drop, I give you Dolph Ziggler. Won the World title from Del Rio the night after Wrestlemania 29. This past Monday he was eliminated in the battle royal by the Cobra.

Shawn Michaels is a guest on Jim Ross' podcast. He was in gorilla position at Wrestlemania and said Vince made the call for Undertaker to lose 4 hours before the show started.

Raw is Alicia Fox Push.

BREAKING NEWS: Daniel Bryan is vacating the WWE title. He's having neck surgery on Thursday.

This company is so screwed if true.

still no decision (apparently they're waiting for the surgery), but assuming they do, who do they put the belt on?

Kane? HHH? Orton? Batista is unlikely because of his movie. Cena ? Or do they leave it vacant until DBD comes back healthy and he has to start his fight all over again? I can see them running an angle where The Authority argues over who should be the A+ player, and between their internal bickering and The Shield interference, they can never complete "for the Vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship" matches, so the belt stays vacant (though they already did that with Orton and DBD).

Probably should figure out a way for Brock Lesnar to get the title (if only he didn't work sporadic dates). In my opinion, he's the best current option. But my guess is creative was probably going through with this plan at Summerslam or Survivor Series to ride through to Wrestlemania.

Lesnar would be money if they could get him to compete, but he prefers the "four matches a year" structure, and I can't say I blame him. putting the belt on Lesnar would be no different than keeping it on DBD while he can't defend it, because Lesnar ain't coming to RAW every week either.

Batista is actually likely if just because of his movie. Once the press starts, I'd imagine the WWE would love him showing up to interviews rocking the belts.

don't think it'll be the hit they're thinking, on wrestling sites there's tons of people in UK and Canada that have figured out how to setup a proxy to subscribe to the network, so when WWE opens up internationally, those people will subscribe there but they're no longer going to subscribe in the U.S., so it's a net zero

granted those are the hardcores doing this stuff via proxies, but who are the people that are going to buy the WWE Network? hardcores

I don't think they'll ever get the money back through the network they lost giving up PPV, unless they do something like double the price of the network and take off Mania, Summerslam, and maybe the Rumble.

here are two TV deals announced this week, showing how TV execs view things, per Meltzer the MLS deal was huge news inside WWE and they were pissed about it:

MLS: 200,000 viewers per game on TV, $90 million TV deal
WWE: 4 million viewers per week on TV, $170 million TV deal

...and MLS doesn't even have commercials during the game.
