I'll give an opinion after I see it this weekend.

Not to rain on the 300 fanboy parade because the trailers are very kickass, but I'm wondering how it holds up to other movies featuring warriors (like gladiator and last of the mohicans) that favored realism and minimized the use of cgi.

I definitely prefer realism over cgi (although it worked for Sin City). Most of what I've read about it says the movie looks like a video game. I'd like to see whether that adds or takes away from the experience.

its a viseral, visual beautiful film, fun to watch and dosent really slow down at all

long as you turn your brain off, its not meant to be discussed, but just to be mentioned as "the shit"

^^^ It uses a lot of the matrix style "extreme slow motion to fast motion" speeds

I'll demonstrate

*Soldier running at bad guy* super fast speed
*soldier swings* super slow motion
*soldier does a spin move* super fast speed
*Soldier swings at someone else* super slow motion

etc. etc. etc.

FYI, it was filmed entirely on green screen in 60 days. 1 year was done for post production. there are over 1500 cuts in the film and it runs at just over 100 minutes. That's about one cut per 4 seconds. How's that for MTV style editing?

Kickass movie

I had to yell at some brats to shut the fuck up because apparently theyve never seen a tit on a 20ft tall screen.

Only thing that irritated me is they just threw some random white horse guy in there to kill the son. what the fuck was that? did they kill that guy??

and hell yeah the queen was hot. A mix between the chick from gladiator and kiera knightly
