No way around the freakiness of this, especially after the speech on Raw, but I'm glad he cleared the air with the E.

Per Meltzer, he was walking from a hotel to his car with his wife and he collapsed.

His quote from Raw Monday night, in character:

Quote :
"One day every man's heart beats its final beat, his lungs breath their final breath, and if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others, it makes them believe deeper in something larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized by the storytellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him and make what the man did live forever"

dude was a ticking time bomb, I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. still, that is insanely creepy, especially after that (^) speech he gave Monday night.

Wrestlers are odd. Some die at 45 in outwardly good health, and others live long past you think they would either looking at their bodies or knowing their circumstances. (e.g. Dusty, Flair, Hulk, Jake)

This is the first "wrestler death" in awhile, I guess since Savage.

Elsewhere it was pointed out how people remember Wrestlemania VII and the Savage-Warrior match with Sherri and Elizabeth ringside. All four people from that match are now dead. Then on Mania Sunday night, Piper, Hogan, Orndorff, Mr. T, and even the referee Pat Patterson do a backstage skit as all the members of the original main event and still alive.

^Wow, haven't thought about that match in ages. Wasn't that the loser is out of the WWF match? When Savage hit him with a ton of flying elbow drops? Classic.

Seeing as Xavier Woods takes a lot of inspiration from Apollo Creed, I'm a little disappointed when he got squashed by Alexander Rusev that Rusev didn't kill him a la Rocky IV.

I personally found it hilarious that Evolution comes out to no crowd reaction at all, good or bad. If that music hit the week prior the roof would have come off the place.

Not just no crowd reaction; the music hit, the 'tron popped up, and the entire announce team sat silent.

On Smackdown Friday night, they had an El Torito vs. Hornswoggle match. Hornswoggle is now a heel, lost weight, slicked his hair, ditched the T-shirt, and paired up with 3MB.

match here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2lpJse_qoU

They should make him a talking manager. Midget heel manager is a license to print money.

Could see the emotion on DB's face. That's tough. They wrote him out of tonite's script early & rightfully so.

And I wish Bray would just go ahead & kill Cena.

Explain Cesaro?

He looks awesome.

He's a killer wrestler.

He's strong as fuck.

He made a habit of delivering European Uppercuts to ring stairs in the indies.

He survived a yodeling gimmick.

What's not to like?

Batista is done for the time being after Extreme Rules.

Can anyone think of an odder short-term comeback?

I don't get what they're doing with Cesaro from a face/heel standpoint, but you can't give the guy a bigger push than putting him with Heyman. With Punk gone, Heyman and Zeb are the best promo guys in the company.

Also, Batista is taking time off for the Guardians of the Galaxy press tour.

I really wish they would make the IC belt relevant for more than just their annual "oh, here's a tournament where we build it up and then forget about it the other 11 months of the year". There can only be so many main event guys (not to be confused w/guys ON Main Event). Surely there have to be a great number of people like me who want more tag teams, managers, and IC/US title chases, right?

people derided the brand extention for "cheapening" the titles by having two full sets, but I look back to the Attitude Era when there were plenty of belts floating around, and every one of them had a purpose.

you had your wrestlers like SCSA, Rock, HHH, Undertaker, Kane, Mankind gunning for the WWF Championship

guys like Jericho, Angle, Benoit, Guerrero going for the WWF Intercontinental Championship

then your guys like Saturn, Regal, Snow, Test, and D Lo Brown for the WWF European Championship

who could forget Crash and Hardcore Holly, Steve Blackman, Raven, The Mean Street Posse, and any random idiot that could sneak up on someone during the "24 hour defense" era battling for the WWF Hardcore Championship?

then you had your E&C, Hardy Boys, Dudly Boys, Holly Bros, APA, R4dicals, New Age Outlaws gunning for the WWF Tag Team Championship?

plus, that had that Light Heavyweight belt for X Pac LOL

they had a loaded roaster back then and actually bothered developing characters and storylines for all the belts. now, they completely forget belts like the IC, US, even the tag teams. shameful, really.

Ambrose has had the US title for almost a year probably, and it doesn't mean shit. He's defended it like 5 times probably, and all of those matches were just thrown together crap with no build. You could put any number of guys in a program with Ambrose and let him get some mic time and the US title would mean something in a matter of weeks.

Here's how I would group the roster (I'm of the opinion that the IC belt should be the "worker's championship"):

World title: Bryan, Cena, Orton, Batista, Lesnar, HHH, Big Show, Mark Henry, Sheamus, Kane

IC/US (combine the damn things): Cesaro, Ziggler, Swagger, Reigns, Wyatt, Barrett, Del Rio, Sandow, Miz (despite how much he sucks), RVD, Big E, Kofi

Tag: Shield (Rollins/Ambrose), Other Wyatts, Usos, Rhodes Brothers, Rybaxel (and get them a better name FFS), Matadores, R-Truth and Xavier Woods (change his name back to Consequences Creed and name them "Truth and Consequences"), Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel, 3MB

They could have come up with any belt in 98/99 Attitude Era and it would have been over. Everyone got over back then. Steve Blackman was over. Different time and era.

I like 100's breakdown. I'd get rid of US title and put the IC title on someone like Barrett, Ziggler, Del Rio, etc. Make it mean something like it did in the late 80's/early 90's. Today they're rushing these guys to quickly to the World Title scene and it just doesn't work.

I'd dump the US Title. That was NWA/WCW's answer to the IC title back in the day...don't need it now. Ambrose certainly doesn't need it.

I'd use the NXT guys to build the undercard and develop some tag teams. Tag team division is where a bunch of these guys are going to separate themselves and prove if they've got a solo run in them.

Seeds planted in Cena promo to open Raw that Cena is going heel.

Don't laugh.

After asking the fans why they voted him to be on a 1-on-3 handicap match last week, he used Harvey Dent's "you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain" line from The Dark Knight.
