The candidates for Secretary General are evan the representative from Niger GrumpyGOP the representative from Mexico Lionheart the representative from Djibouti.
The term for a Secretary General is 6 months. Voting begins now and ends July 12 at 8:00pm
Djibouti feels that as a permanent security council member that taking up the position of secretary general may be a conflict of interest. Therefore Djibouti places its vote with the representative from Mexico. However, the representative of Djibouti will serve in this capacity if it be the will of this council. 7/9/2007 12:10:34 AM |

I am hereby withdrawing from my post as official delegate of the Principality of Sealand. It has become clear that the majority of the United Nations is against the recognition of the sovereignty of the Principality of Sealand, and I feel my efforts are in vain. I am therefore handing over the reigns to Snewf, who I feel will be an excellent delegate if the sovereignty of the Principality of Sealand is ever recognized by this body.
Instead, I now wish to be recognized as the official delegate of Denmark, my country of origin. 7/9/2007 12:58:09 AM |

The Republic of Niger wishes to make the council aware that evan was the designer of the posters that represented the single most visible campaign ever held on NCSU's campus last semester. This being said, along with his obvious political prowess and insane sex appeal, the Republic of Niger requests your votes for evan as Secretary General of the TWWUN. 7/9/2007 1:10:04 AM |

with regard to the accession of the virgin islands,
sweden would remind the united states that according to the montevideo convention (of which the US is a signatory) a soveriegn state should possess: a permanent population, a defined territory, a government, and the capacity to enter into relations with the other states. can the united states show that these pre-conditions have not been met, particularly that the virgin islands are restricted from establishing international relations?
with regard to relocation to the lounge,
it is sweden's long-standing position that freedom of speech is an integral part of any democracy, and that even unpopular speech should be protected from undue censure. we believe that relocation of twwun endangers this protection, and as such vote nay to TWWUN Resoluton 02

the Principality of Sealand is forced to declare that from here forward no copyright or other iteration of legal rights to information property from the nation of Israel will be honored by Sealand
Sealand is also implementing a general economic embargo against the nation of Israel on moral grounds the embargo will be lifted when Israel has implemented substantial steps to end its fascist occupation and oppression of the Palestinian land and people 7/9/2007 9:08:35 AM |

Ireland agrees in part with the first resolution, that the place in question indeed be called Sealand, but that we introduce legislation naming the official feline of said land "Seacat." We abstain from voting until this is introduced.
On the second part, we vote Yea, to spite the existing British vote.

the Principality of Sealand would like to point out to the French ambassador that, at present, the Principality of Sealand is not a recognized member of the United Nations
treaties and diplomacy would be more easily entered into if free, open discourse and the recognition of national sovereignity were formally recognized 7/9/2007 9:20:38 AM |

sweden would remind the petitioner that sealand, like the virgin islands, should possess: a permanent population, a defined territory, a government, and the capacity to enter into relations with the other states, as prima facie evidence of sovereignty; at present this has been called into serious question

10 inhabitants is not enough to be identified as a city much less a sovereign nation
the french delegation motions that the land of "Sealand" be bought and colonized by the highest bidder to start the development of the land. The ten inhabitants will be known as Sealand, ____ colony and will be placed in counsel member positions for the good of the land.

Sealand is governed by a succession of the Royal Bates lineage
in 1978 the German government sent a diplomat to negotiate for the release of a former national being held for treason in Sealand - this qualifies as de facto recognition of Sealand's sovereignty 7/9/2007 10:10:28 AM |
