FYROM wishes to announce it respects and admires Sicily's attempts at independence in becoming its own nation. FYROM would also be willing to lend a helping hand in allying with Sicily...as a country in the Mediterranean Region, FYROM is close enough to Sicily to lend naval support if hostilities were to arise. 7/9/2007 11:07:34 PM |

Sicily wholeheartedly accepts FYROM's help and hereby extends a formal offer of alliance to FYROM. This agreement states that Sicily will come to the defense of FYROM at FYROM's request, will offer aid at FYROM's request, will negotiate and initiate formal trade relations to include trade routes, tariff discussions, goods to be traded and economic incentives. Furthermore, Sicily is ready to negotiate travel rules for citizens of both nations. 7/9/2007 11:20:55 PM |

While there are no open hostilities between Sicily and FYROM, the continuing conflicts within the Mediterranean Region leave us to be aware of any invading terrorists, spies, etc...Therefore valid passports will be required for any border visits into FYROM whether it be via land or air. Until turmoil subsides around the borders of Macedonia and in the Eastern Mediterranean, this will be the only method of visiting citizens. FYROM are open to hear your suggestions for crossing your borders.

Djibouti cannot support a claim of independance for Sicily. This sets a bad precedent from which a contingent from nearly any entity could attempt to gain recognition. Each nation stands to loose control over its own institutions. What if each state in the US claimed seperated sovereignty. What if Northern Ireland claimed itself independant from the UK or Newfoundland from Canada. We must stop entertaining these requests for seccesion from all entities except for those whith a legitiment history of self governing and regulation and ambiguous jurisdiction such as Sealand.
Do not support this move from Sicily lest each or your nations be put into peril. 7/10/2007 10:50:43 PM |

As the United States of America refuses to recognize Sicily's independence, we obviously cannot discuss such a request at this juncture.
Also, the United States of America wishes to know if any other countries have petitioned for temporary security council memberships.

Alliance with Sicily is assured and the differing opinions displayed by the U.S. and Djibouti has been duely noted. FYROM are currently reluctant to pursue outside conflict with the U.S. and Djibouti, and will continue to note other inconvenient actions made by said nations.

Mexico would like to offer its apologies for its recent absence from discussions, which were the result of having to deal with its woman.
The delegate from Mexico also wishes to vote AYE on R 03, given that this sort of absence is common for many members who are otherwise dedicated to the goals of promoting peace and prosperity in the world.
Mexico can see no just cause for recognizing the sovereignty of Sicily, which has not existed independently for generations and which has no strong domestic movement for independence.
Mexico also wishes to offer a suggestion, though not a resolution, that those delegates capable of changing their status names do so to reflect their country of origin. This will help to reduce some, if not all, of the confusion.
---
Lastly, the delegate from Mexico wishes to extend thanks to those who have voted to place him in the esteemed chair of the Secretary General, and promises to serve to the full extent of his abilities.
This message will be simulcast in Spanish later. 7/11/2007 12:31:45 AM |
